"It doesn't take a lot to be the bad guy."
I wiped the sweat from my forehead and held in my tears. Show no weakness to your enemies.
"And I bet it doesn't take a lot to beat them."
:.~^*^~.:
I rubbed the sweat off my hands and buttoned up the rest of my denim shirt up that went below my knees. So technically, that makes it a dress. Wow, I've just been played.
I pulled on black leggings and my sneakers, pulled out my phone and called Chance.

"Hello~"
"Hey, are you ready?"
"No, I'm getting my hair ready."
"And they say girls take forever when getting ready."
"Also, I'm inviting a few more of my friends. The only person you have to pay for is me, though, so don't worry about the check."
"How should I believe that? You probably eat like a horse."
"Whatever. So Zac came over and questioned if you were coming. He looked a little flustered; no, actually his thoughts revealed that. He's a hard person to read, though."
"I don't believe you. We are gonna go to that restaurant, have a nice and casual time, and you will not mess this up."
"Fine, fine. I won't mess this up."
"I don't like your tone. Whatever, bye Chance."
"Dubai~"

Ugh, so annoying. I discontinued the call and flipped through my bag to search for anything I didn't need. I looked at the mirror and fixed my hair that I carefully dried so it didn't mess up but didn't stain my clothes. You can't take a good nap without having something stress you in the end.
The lights flickered and it was a bit strange that the whole room darkened at that second; the windows were streaming in golden rays of light. I looked back at my glowing orbs which were black with a bright pink aura around them.

A knock on the door echoed in the room and I walked over to it with the energy I had left. Everything seemed bigger, and louder, and dimmer. "Hunter?"
He looked at my eyes and showed a face of concern. "Did you, by any chance, drink a bottle with red liquid in it?"
"Oh no..."

He pulled my arm, dragging me into the room and sat me in the bed. "How do you feel," he spoke while going through the kit he was carrying.
"A bit nauseous. What's wrong with me, is it your brother?"
He held something in his hand but I couldn't identify it, it was large and kind of looked like a plastic pencil. "Probably. I wouldn't know. I'm only here to look out for people who'd be affected by his mischief. I told the principal this but not who I was look in' out for."

I watched as he stuck that stick into my skin and I felt my skin tighten around a needle that must've been hidden in the middle. "Oh shit."

He took the needle out and I saw how the white plastic was tinted a blood red. "The drink was infected," Hunter commented.
I nodded. "Would it be someone's trying to kill me?"
"No, this was definitely a villain. This would've just have made it easier for you to be a target. Like make you forget what you are supposed to be doing, make your powers go out of wack, depersonalization, shit like that. Or, if you're too weak, pass out."
"So someone is trying to kidnap me or something?! What do we do?"

He stood up and walked toward the door. "We can't do anything if we don't have any evidence of who might be doing this." Hunter walked out the door without another word.
I knew what this meant. I had to find out who was doing this on my own. If he did it, it'd be obvious that we were on to whoever was committing this scheme.

I got up and started making my way downstairs and rose my eyebrows at the crowd that Chance had brought. "Mr.Colt, sir, who are these pleasant people that you have brought to me?"
"Miss Duior," he did an exaggerated bow and spoke in a posh accent. "I am ashamed. These are your classmates. Liam, James, Jospeh, Sage, and Flynn."

They waved and spoke "hi"s and "hey"s. "I feel so awkward that I'm the only girl here."
James walked up and wrapped an arm around me. "Don't worry Hun, no ones gonna hurt you unless that's what you want."
I lifted his arm off and backed away. "Nope! Sorry but I'm too good for you."

He pouted and I whacked him on the head. "Get it together man. I'm only here to pay for your dinner, Chance."
Chance shrugged and led us outside where we walked to the restaurant.
:.~^*^~.:
"Shut up, that did not happen."
"It did, it did! I didn't even have a chance and I seriously got pounded to the ground."
"Damn it, you suck Sage!"
"You're one to talk Liam."

I looked at my wrist and I would have it be back at the hotel soon. "I have to be back soon guys."
"Awwww!," they worded in unison.
"I know, I'm amazing." I slipped Chance his money and he winked as a response.

I walked outside and the warm air hit me. "Okay, turning left."
The streets were more empty at this area, I felt more safe with the boys around. I rubbed my arms as if they had goosebumps and ducked my head and the gang standing by the large alleyway. One of them whistled and for some reason that got me ticked off. It reminded me soo much of my dad and how after he got someone to kill mom, he would just date and waste girls as he pleased.
"Son of a b****"

"What was that?" One of the guys walked up to me and for some reason, he looked really familiar. "What was what?"
"What'd you just call us?"
"What do you mean?"

The boy grabbed me by the collar. Shocked, I dropped my bag and my ID fell out of it. Oh no no no no no.
"Fable-Lizbeth Duior," he read, still holding me. He looked back at me, like he didn't believe that was my name.
"What, is it that my mother named me and that you don't have one?"

He slammed me against the car behind me. "We have the same f**king mom!"
"What do you mean?"

He dropped me and I sat on the hood of the car. "First, I'll ask the questions."
He picked up the card and scanned it. "Hero Academy?"
"Yeah that's my school. Considering I don't have an aberrant, I guess it's sorta surprising."
"Wait, so you don't have a superpowers? How'd you even get into the school?"

I coughed nervously. "I recommended myself."
"That's so sad. A hero with no powers is literally just a cop."
"No. A hero with no powers makes me Batman."

He rolled his eyes. "Why are you trying to be a hero when your father is one of the best villains in the world?"
"How would you know that?"
"Your father and my mom are married. How do you not know that?"
"Because my mom is dead!"
"Your dad remarried with my mom, Ivy."
"Stop lying to me! I don't need your BS right now. Don't lie to me. Are you doing this so you can get close to my father?"

He scoffed. "I don't need the Devil telling me what's to do."
And with that, he walked back to his gang and disappeared into the alleyway.

I rubbed my temples from the shock that just came over me and started to pick up the things that spilled from my purse.
My hand met with another and I looked up into Zac's hazel eyes. "Hey Zac?"
"Are you okay? I felt if I jumped in at that moment, I would've hurt you."
"I'm alright. Don't worry, not a scratch."
"Ill walk you back."

I felt Zac was acting a little awkward around me as we made it back to our hotel. We stopped at the benches by the garden to make sure I picked up everything that I had dropped and then I decided to drop him a question.
"Hey Zac?" He looked at me. "Are you gay?"
