"Hello Sunshine."

I sat on the red cushion chair in front of the clear border that separated me and my dad. I rapidly tapped my foot on the ground and my eyes kept darting to the door. Eventually, someone would bust through there.

"Sunshine, you seem to have a wandering eye," dad said, lifting himself off the dirty mattress laid on his side of the room. "What happened?"

I rubbed the damp part of my jeans and shrugged. "Don't know what you mean."

He already probably has a gist of what happened, it's not the first time. Maybe I'll get a better jail cell than dad if I get caught. Maximus would help me, wouldn't he?
His job can't really make him betray me. And yet, maybe it can. Maybe he won't come to my rescue, maybe I'll be put into prison for the rest of my life and go psycho. Maybe I should just leave before it gets worse and live life as a fugitive. Or maybe I'll die before all of that.

"Fable, why are you crying?"

I furrowed my eyebrows and rubbed my face with the back of my hands. I didn't go back home and spent the night walking towards the jail. My clothes were covered in dust and my face was still slightly burned from the dry ice Zac incased me in. My hands were a bloody red mess and were probably going to get infected sooner or later. I could barely hold the pen when signing in.

"I was stupid," I said flatly. "And I messed up. So. Fucking. Bad. And now I'm going to die."

My voice starting cracking and it was getting harder to talk. I didn't want to be telling this stuff to him but I needed to empty it out somewhere.
"I might have even almost got a boyfriend at some point of it all. And then he was the only one who told me with his own words to leave."

His eyes were permanently purple ever since he turned dark but a hint of red starting appearing around the irises.

"Aw, how your story fills me with such sorrow. Well you know I could help," he said as he knocked on the glass. "But you're going to have to do something about this."

"I'm not that pathetic. No one in their right mind would let a villain loose."

"Fable, I'm still your father. And anyone would do anything to have a piece that would complete the puzzle."

I ran a finger down a scratch on my cheek. I looked over at the door again and exhaled.
"No. I can do this myself."

"Well where are you going to stay? They'll definitely search the house first."

My hand slammed against the the arm of the chair. "I don't know," I spoke through gritted teeth.

"Stay with Ivy, she'll be good to you."

I looked at him as if he was crazy. "Fuck no. That women is a sadist, except when your around. Then, she completely switches gears."

"But aren't all people sadists one way or another. There must be someone who you want to feel pain," he smiled.

Jason.

"No, I'm not you."

"Well, what will you do now?"

Die.

"I'll . . . go to Ivy's . . ."

He nodded then waved me off. I slowly moved my hand and slid the door open. I glanced around a few times before dashing out, making sure that no one was lurking at a corner waiting for me.

Obviously I was not going to Ivy's, I just needed him to stop talking. If he did keep talking, the more I would consider it. I had to tell Maximus and my phone was back at the hotel. They would not take a while to get in with my 8 character-length password but I had a chance.
