"W-WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?!"

Zac rose an eyebrow at me. "So you did not just say your father was a criminal"

"WHAT WOULD MAKE YOU THINK THAT!?"
"The fact you're yelling," he responded, pointing at his mouth indicating so.

Oh bejeez. What the hell did I do?
Yeah, what did you do?
Stay outta my head, Chance!

"Zac, is it possible that you can just forget everything that just happened?"

He shook his head. "Not even gonna consider it. Fable, what's going on?"
"Zac, just forget-"

Chance grabbed my forearm, a slightly solemn expression on his face. "Fable, you can't hold it in. Just tell him."

I scoffed and pulled my hand away from him. "Don't tell me what to do! I've been hiding it all my life until I came across you! You and your stupid aberrant just keep messing with my life, I was fine until I met any of you!"

For the first time, I saw anger on Chance's face. My body started to feel numb and with no control, I punched him square in the jaw. He fell limp to the floor and I saw a bruise forming on his cheek.

I started spewing words that I really wished would've stayed in my mouth.
"Alright, fine! My dad is the Black Devil, there I said it! I'm the daughter of a super villain and I have the genes!"

People started to gather by the door and I couldn't control myself.
The teachers started to walk over and I spotted the restraints. Oh, no way they're putting those on me!

I glared at one of the teachers holding the chains and he was suddenly thrown back with a great force, falling unconscious.
Oh shit, what did I do?!

I couldn't control myself, my body was acting on its own. Like I'm under a spell or...
Mind control!

Stupid Jason! When did he even get close to me? I don't remember being touched by him and he didn't act until now.
I tried to use my eyes as an advantage to see if he was there but I couldn't spot him. Jason has to see where we are in order to act upon what we're doing.

The ground started to shake and I looked down to see my feet encased in stone and concrete. I tried to pry my feet out but they wouldn't budge. I felt the blood circulation slowing down but the rocks eventually moved and I fell on my bum, rubbing my ankles to help with the blood circulation.
Everything was getting cold and I realized that I was inside a large pile of dry ice.

Zac stood on the other side, Hunter by him.
"Keep her in there until we can get help or she gives in, the cold will get to her eventually," Hunter told Zac.
He nodded and gazed at me.

I touched the ice with one finger but flinched when a burning sensation went through it. I could see my reflection, my eyes were purple. Oh no...
"Zac?"

He bit the inside of his cheek. "Zac, I guess you know why I'm soo distant."

Surprisingly, he responded. "My parents were severely injured by your dad so I hate him with my guts. The way you acted, I presume that's what happened to him?"

I force a laugh. "You're completely wrong. He knew what he was doing, I can't control it like he can. I inherit his powers but they only work as a villain. So technically, I don't have an aberration. I want to prove to people that I can be a hero without a need of superpowers, that I won't end up like him."

My eyes started to droop and I carefully stood up. "Fable, just go to sleep. I know your tired and the easiest way to get you out of here is you being unconscious."
I looked up and shook my head. "No." I placed my hand on the ice and the skin started to peel and blister. They started to bleed and I slowly leaned forward to place my face on the ice and the case disappeared.

"What are you doing?" Zac gave me a look of concern and pain.
"I need to get to my dad. I ... need to ..."
He pulled me towards him and I sighed into his shirt. "I'm sorry..."
"For what?"

"For this."
I lifted my knee towards his stomach and he stumbled backwards into the pool.

I spat on my hands to help with the lingering effects of his aberrant. I heaved myself on top of the hedges that bordered the poolside and looked over at Zac who just looked at me, drenched in water. His eyes seemed to be in my direction for minutes before both of us looked over at shadows marching towards us.

His eyes drifted to the white outline and melting ice on the ground.
"You were too strong," he said. "And you escaped."

Then, Zac looked at me sternly in the eyes.
"And I had nothing to do with your escape."

I stared at him longingly before I felt something fall down my cheek.

"Zac, are you okay?!," someone yelled.
Zac just kept staring, even as I jumped off the hedge and ran.

I kept running, even as my lungs were burning and my legs ready to collapse underneath me.
Even as my vision blurred from the tears pooling in my eyes.

I felt myself falling towards the pavement and my hands were stiff at my side as I hit the ground. My arms were shaking so much that I couldn't pull myself up.

I closed my eyes and I couldn't contain my loud sobs. And the worst part was it wasn't because of losing everything.

It was because the only person I could face now was dad. And admitting that to myself drove me over the edge.
