The daylight had came all too soon ,I felt lost and alone once again" another warm summer morning gone by without my love my enigma , missing his touch,his kiss'..the sun had shone through comforting&bright ' I heard the beautiful songs of bird's,so beautiful , I stretched as far as I could' Ruby you must wake up you have a lot  to do today , I drew you a hot bath,did you forget it's your birthday? My chamber maid  Athia/ nanny' was really persistent this morning,she had been with us since I was a baby ,like a second mother to me" I loved her unconditionally,she often let me get away with thing's that I wasn't supposed to ' I mumbled under my breath,yes unfortunately Athia ,but I do not care about my birthday party...But why I have to have a retched party it's nothing but snooty rich ungrateful people!!! They care nothing about me just what the hell they could gossip about!!! But my dear girl you watch your tone,you are 18 ,this is a must at your age" She looked me straight in my eyes so calm she was I suppose from all she had to put up with from me,Do you want to become an old hag and die alone with no husband or children? I don't care about any of those thing's I'm too young Athia  please do not make me do this!I begged & pleaded for mercy but I was not shown any... Ruby it's a masquerade my little one" you never know you might just find a perfect suitable gentleman that can keep up with you ,I giggled' highly doubtful Athia"
Come now my sweet child we must get you ready ' Where is mother? I asked hesitantly? She is in the West wing my dear preparing for your party tonight,your mother my dear has great expectations for you and the least you can do is appreciate all that she has done"she's been through alot since your father passed' that was something I NEVER wanted to think about anymore,I loved him so much ,for I was 11 year's old when he had passed ' I can still remember him coming home from one of his great adventures , bringing mother & I beautiful little trinkets from across the world, that's what he had done for a living traded & sold furs ,jewels there was something for everyone and he loved what he did" suddenly tragedy struck us,he was murdered on his way home not too far from here ' no one had known exactly what happened,for all we knew the killer could still be close by" mother and I mourned for it seemed like eternity' we try not to think about it ' but some days are worse than others especially for her ,my sweet beautiful mother ' Ruby.... I'm sorry Athia ' where did you go my child? Oh Athia  I'm fine" just fine I guess' sadness filled my heart so deeply ,to be with my father again' She (Athia) hugged me for a moment,she knew him,my father Stanley' it's alright my child I know he is watching over you and your mother & he loves the both of you with all his heart" Now dry your beautiful blue eyes my sweet child.... Please please!!! You cannot make me do this ! I shall not be paraded around these rich snob's! We are not like them at all I ran out onto my terrace trying to escape the harsh reality of it all,father would not have treated me like this ' I could feel the warmth of my tears start to drip down my cheeks ' hush now child' I turned to the soft voice who called to me ..Mother please I cannot do this ,this isn't who I'm supposed to be, she listened to every word I said ' my dear Ruby I love you so much but marrying a good man will assure your place in life , you'll never have to worry about anything my dear' she hugged me with all she had ,now please get yourself together and I'll make sure you are with the right gentleman' I promise" but you must be ready we only have a few hour's & be on your best behavior' and with that she walked away ,I knew she wanted the best for me but , it's not what I wanted for myself...I was fine the way things we're 'i do not need anyone!! Living here just made me worse I rebelled we do not belong here ,we belonged back home in America ,, thousands of miles and day's away I just hated it here ,not anyone or anything could possibly change my mind I was not staying here any longer " I will take matters into my own hands!!!
