Her And Maybe Me

I sat waiting.
It's been almost 3 hours.
What the hell is Maddison doing?
"Oh shit. Oh shit. Oh shit." Delance comes racing down the stairs frantically.
"We gotta go. Maddison and Crystal need help." She yells as she races to the door.
Quickly I race after her and pull her to a stop with Ash just behind me. "Why?" We ask in frightened unison.
"The agency has set off alarms and emergency signals calling for help. I looked at the security footage Maddison set up and it's freakin bad. The Diablos have over run the place. They're floading into the building. There's things flying out windows from chairs to people. It's hell over there. We need to go." She says in a panic. The others getting there just in time to hear it.
We don't take long to react. Leaping into cars and flying down the drive and onto the road. We drive well over the speed limit. Too fast for the police to have any control on stopping us. We don't slow down, flying through stop lights and crossing lanes. Angering almost every driver on the road as we go. But we don't care. Crystal and Maddison need our help. We won't stop till we give them that help.

When we got there police had circled the building. People were screaming and shouting. Gunshots are heard as well as shattering glass. "They'd better be okay." Ash says under his breath and I put a hand on his shoulder.
We need to get in there to find the girls and make sure they're okay. Suddenly from the building we hear to familiar, female voices screaming clearly over the noise. "I'M GONNA KILL YOU TALON!" A smile appears on all of our faces.
The girls are absolutely fine.
For now.
There's a scream and sound of shattering glass. We all look up to see Maddison fly out the wind of the 6th floor window. All colour drains from my body and I go cold as I watch her fall. She spins in the air and shoots something into the air. A rope flies out and hooks onto one of the upper windows.
She stops falling and swings sideways, crashing into the wall. Quickly I run over and catch her as she falls. She smiles and pats my chest before rolling from my arms and landing clumsily. There was a gash down her arm that was slowly oozing blood. "Are you okay?" I ask her.
She turns and smiles widely at me. "This is the most fun I've had in years. It's brilliant." She said excitedly.
"Where's Crystal?" I ask. To answer she comes crashing out the front door.
"Take cover. There's a bomb." She yells. Maddison and I sprint away from the building.
There's a ground shaking explosion and we are knocked to the ground. As the debris rains down I cover Maddison with my body. When it stops I roll off of her and groan. "My head hurts." I stand up slowly and hold my hand out to Maddison. She takes my hand and I help her to her feet.
She rolls her shoulders and winces. "Oh my god. Maddison are you okay?" Crystal runs over and looks Maddison over. She had a slice over her left brow.
"I feel amazing." She replies and I look at her in worry. Crystal looks at her in worry as well. We glance at her and the same thing goes through our minds.
'Oh shit.'
Maddisons eyes glaze over and roll into the back of her head before she collapses. I catch her and shake my head. "I wish I could do more." I sigh as I look down at her. An ambulance arrives and I walk her over. But then I remember what she said when she was attacked.
"Crystal stop." I yell quickly. Crystal stops just by the back. When she looks back at me I shake my head and she slowly backs away. Quickly I carry Maddison to my car and lay her gently on the back seat.
"What?" Crystal hissed. I indicate the others over with a flick of my fingers.
"When I rescued Maddison after she was attacked I asked her if I should take her to the hospital she said that they'd kill her. Something tells me that whatever is going on is bigger than the Diablos. People who work with and for the Diablos could be at the hospital as doctors and/or nurses. We can't trust them. We can't trust anyone except for us and those we know. Maybe not even them." I say and Crystal looks at Delance who looks at the twins who look back at Crystal as if they were having a secret conversation.
"Well I think is has something to do with a past mission. Something that didn't go well." Crystal says.
"Failed. She has a case file called 'Failed'. If we can get into that then we can figure out what's going on." I say and Ashley and Shannon laugh.
"Impossible. She's got a set up that's stronger than the pentagon, Fort Knox and every investigation agency added together. Her firewalls have no flaws, no cracks. It's complete perfection. You can't hack in. If you tried she'd know who it was. She'd know it was us. That file is locked up tighter than all the others. 27 different firewalls to get through, 18 different codes to figure out which is impossible because you have to work them all out before they change after 10 minutes. Even if you do get through that you have to get the password right. If you get it wrong once, just one wrong letter, one wrong number, one miss spelling will alert her and everything will shut down. You'd have to be smarter than her to get in. Trust me. She's smarter than you all think." Ashley says seriously and Shannon nods.
"You tried to hack in didn't you?" I ask and they shrug.
"We were very bad girls a few years back. To be honest we still are." Shannon smirks. Dylan pulls her close and I look away when he kisses her neck.
"Well that won't work then. Maybe we can get her to tell us." I suggest but Crystal shakes her head.
"She won't tell anyone. She's locked up tighter than her tech." She says and I sigh in frustration as I look down at her. Shaking my head I climb into the drivers seat. Everyone else getting into their cars before we all drive back home.
"Why don't you tell anyone about you past Maddison? What happened?" I murmur as I look at Maddison through the rear view mirror. I can only hope that she can open up. Because if she doesn't whatever she's hiding will get her killed and maybe me as well.
