Sorry for the very long update. School started for me, and I'm now in High School. It has hours of homework, as well as drama club. Updates will take longer then they usually would so sorry. Also, major fells below, as most of you put it.
"Why can't we find a mother to hold our baby!" Yelled Magnus, slamming his fist on the wooden table of the Institute's kitchen. Alec wrapped his arms around his husband.
"We are gonna find one. We just have to wait." Magnus nodded. It's been a month since he and Alec decided to start a family, and two months since their wedding. They also decided to surrogate, that way, their baby could get some of their DNA. Because Magnus was a warlock, he couldn't reproduce, so Alec was the only one left.
Alec looked at Magnus's depressed cat eyes. He too was sad that a surrogate mother was either to expensive for them, or to untrustworthy. Ever since he found out he was gay, he knew that a child with both his and his partner's DNA would be out of the question. Adoption would have been his choice, because Shadowhunters usually don't surrogate. The Nephilim race was already dying out, so most parents kept their children, and if they would were put up for adoption, the parents would have been punished.
"I'll do it," said Isabelle, who put down a bowl of what seemed to be over burned Mac and Cheese. Everyone winced at the sight of it.
"Izzy, I don't want you to be pregnant with my child," said Alec, turning her around, so Magnus could poof away the fowl food, for something un-burnt. "Also, you and Simon would be punished for giving your child away." Isabelle sighed.
"I agree on the first reason," she said, putting some Macaroni in her own bowl, not noticing the change. "But for the second one, I don't give a fuck about the punishment. You deserve to have a child more then most of the members of the Clave."
"Isabelle's right," said Clary, standing up from her chair. "So I think, I have an idea on what we could do."
Everyone looked at her. "Tell us," they all yelled toward her.
"Okay, but I'm warning you, it will be hard for Alec, Magnus, Jace, and I." The three men that were listed gave worried glances toward the red head. "First, me and Jace have to get a divorce."
"What!" Yelled Jace, jumping out of his chair. "Why do we need to be divorced?"
"So I can marry Alec," replied Clary in calm tone. Magnus jumped out of chair next, nocking it over.
"He's gay! He won't marry you!" Magnus yelled, gripping Clary's shoulders.
"And what's so wrong with our marriage?" Asked Jace, a tear falling from the corner of his eye.
"Relax crybaby," said Clary, pushing Magnus off her. "What I was saying, is that in the eye of the Clave, Magnus and Alec aren't married. So we divorce, I marry Alec, we have baby, we divorce, he keeps a baby, I remarry you." All them stared at her with confusing looks.
"I think that is the most over complicated, painful, and awesome plan I have ever heard," said Simon, who had already finished his bowl. "But, that's more of an Izzy plan."
Isabelle shot her husband a surprised look. "And what does that mean?" She asked in a dangerous tone.
"Um...well. You have the tendency of-" He started, but cut of by Jace.
"Of having overcomplicated plans, that will most likely get us killed." Everyone nodded, except Isabelle, who threw the wooden spoon in her hand at Jace, who caught it.
"Those are your plans," she yelled toward her adopted brother. She stomped over, grabbing a steak knife of the counter.
"Those are both your plans," Alec said, snatching the blade out of his sister's hand. "Why do you think I always protect you!"
