Chapter 21

Luke's POV

I wake up and see Hayley staring at me. "Hey hey, how are you feeling? Do you remember what happened?" I ask

She continues to look at me I can tell she is searching for words in her head. I'm shocked at what she does next though.

Hayley's POV

I'm not sure what to say to Luke. I remember everything that happened, and he rescued me. I know I wouldn't have died. But still.

I don't know what to say so what I decide to do shocks us both I think.

I lean up to him and kiss him. It's soft, slow, and passionate. I pull away slightly. I look up at him through my lashes my hand gripping his shirt his now cupping my cheek.

"Thank you Luke." Is all I say before he leans down and kisses me again.

Luke's POV

Sadly the moment doesn't last forever the dogs come bursting in through the door and get on the bed.

"Why hello" She says laughing and smiling. I melt a little. "We should probably get up and get going." She says while getting up from the bed. I get up quickly after her and nod agreeing before walking out closing the door after me.

Hayley's POV

I get dressed slowly and it wasn't easy, I looked in the mirror and saw I have a bruise on my back, my inner thigh, Rib area and lower butt. I'm going to be sore for a few days but I know I'll be ok.

Luke knocks on my door and helps me downstairs. He makes some toast for us and we eat before going outside for the long day ahead of us. Or me at least. It's going to be hard for me today but it will be fine. I make sure the dogs come down with us and we head out.
