Tim's POV
Hayley runs upstairs to get changed and I can't help but feel like there is some kind of tension between Luke and Hayley, but I decide to ignore it.
I head down to the barn and get out Oakley and Cash both of which are quarter horses. Oakley is a dun and Cash is a buckskin. Cash is my horse who I mainly ride, and Oakley is a trail horse Hayley uses.
I get them both saddled up and ready to go, and wait for Hayley to get out here.
"Hey dad, thanks for getting them ready, now you ready to go?" She asks, obviously eager to ride.
"Of course sweetie. Let's get going." I tell her before putting my foot in the stirrup and hopping on.
We are out on the trail talking and I decide to Luke. "So how are things going with Luke? Are you guys getting along okay?" I ask, I notice Hayley take what looks like a deep breath.
"Yeah. We are getting along better then before. Luke is definitely not as rude or arrogant as he was when he first got here. So that's a plus." She says, I smile and laugh at that.
"He always has been a little full of himself. But let me tell you Hayley. He has the biggest heart, and is a really good guy. Plus he's very smart. Probably one of the smartest guys I've ever met." I tell her, thinking about all the things Luke has done and what he did at such a young age.
"What about Andrew? I hear his dad is having a party soon." I mention.
"Yeah. He asked me to go with him." She tells me, I take in a breath, trying to control myself.
"Are you going to go?" I ask, but in my head I already know the answer.
"Yeah. I'm going, but I feel like I need just to get closure. And we are just going as friends. That's it." Hayley says. "Are you mad at me?" She asks.
"Hayley I could never be mad at you. I just want you to be happy. That's all that matters to me. You being happy, and being treated right." I tell her as we get to the end of the trail that leads out of the woods.
Hayleys POV
We are walking the horses back into the barn to untack, I have to admit I feel better just being able to talk to my dad for that short time. I might not have been able to tell him everything for obvious reasons, but I still feel better.
After the horses are untacked and we put them back outside, and we put everything away we make sure all the chores are done in the barn and head back to the house and see Luke grilling some steaks and burgers. I know it's going to be a long two day.
*2 days later*
"I'm going to miss you dad." I say with my arms wrapped around his neck.
"I'll miss you too Hayley, but don't worry I'll be back before you know it. Just be careful." He tells me giving me a tight squeeze before placing a kiss on my cheek.
He turns to Luke and gives him a bro hug and and they say goodbye.
"Take care of her Luke. That's my world." My dad tells Luke, and Luke just nods, he hops in his truck and gives us one more wave before driving off.
A/N: look at me go!!! Three updates just like that! Sorry it's not my best work but I'll probably go back and rework some of it! But hey at least you guys are getting some new content. Some of the chapters I have sitting waiting to be updated, but I just have to write the chapters before it so it makes sense. Much love❤️
