"SO... WHEN WERE you gonna tell me you were this... 'Troll Fighter'?" His mom asked in a quiet, dark voice from Jim's side. "When you were going off into a battle you wouldn't come back from? When you were on your deathbed? Jim, why didn't you tell me? I'm your mother!" Barbara scolds, standing up and leaning over her son, worry reflected in her eyes.

Jim swallowed and looked away. "It just would've been one more thing for you to worry about."

"Jim, that's my job! What would've happened if one day you didn't come back, huh?! What would I've been told?!"

He swallowed roughly and turned away further.

"...Oh my God... you already had that figured out, didn't you?" His mom questioned faintly, collapsing into her seat. "So what bullshit story would I have been fed?" She demanded softly.

"...Depended, but if it couldn't be explained or there wasn't a body, the story was a chemical fire. Nothing survived, including the body." His voice was quiet and strong despite the slight waver as he described his potential deaths' cover up.

"O...oh my God, Jim!" She shouted angrily, back on her feet. "Look at me!" She barks, forcing him to face her.

Her look softens as she notices the tears racing down his cheeks. "Jim, you planned how your death would be covered up! Do you have any clue how insane that is?!"

Jim merely whispered the reply, "Do you have any idea how insane Trolls are?"
