"THIS IS BAD. This is very, very bad!" Jim rambled as he passed. "We have to get to Trollmarket! Now!"

Claire grimaced, rising from her perch on the couch, arms spreading wide. "That... may not be an option, Jim. We have people watching us around the clock, not to mention that Toby has a speedster watching him, and you the clone of Superman-- we... may not be able to help..." Claire said hesitantly, cringing at the mere thought. Everyone else did, too.

Knowing she was right, and his heart sinking in his chest, Jim collapsed onto the couch, staring forlornly at the ground.

"Couldn't we bring Connor in on this? He doesn't seem as close to the team as he does us." Barbara suggests somewhat desperately.

Jim sighs before responding before anyone else. "No. Mom, I would trust Connor with this in a heartbeat if it weren't for Miss Martian."

Claire nods. "Jim's right. Martian Manhunter made a note in her file that said that she was holding back most of the time and that she was at least three times as powerful as him, a fully grown Martian who has had centuries of practice!" Claire cries out.

"Not-- helping!" Toby grinds out to Claire.

"No, Claire is right." Darci cuts in. "I don't understand why exactly you want to risk everything by telling Connor, but you're levelheaded enough to not be a total idiot. Neither of you would've even considered it if you didn't trust him. ...However... can we trust his mind?"

Toby turns to Eli. "Hey, Eli-- you live with her, what'd you think?"

Eli squirms. "I-I dunno. J-Jim said he couldn't feel anything, s-so we have no clue if she ever did it to me..."

Steve frowns. "But couldn't the Amulet be affecting that? Jim might've already had defenses."

Everyone stared at him in surprise.

Steve flushed. "What?! I'm not a complete buttsnack!"
