after a while of contemplating, i decided to stay at my school mate hani's place, seeing as going home still didn't seem like a very good idea.
i walked up to her door, checking the time on my phone. it read;
11:58 pm
as tired as i was, i still walked in the door as soon as she opened it, muttering a small hello to hani who had been left at home alone for the past week.
"you're lucky my parents aren't here, otherwise they'd never let you stay overnight. they probably would've called your mom already, too."
i sighed and plopped down on her couch. that would be my bed for the night.
i checked the time on my phone again, praying it somehow went back in time so i could catch up on my sleep.

hani's voice snapped me out of my thoughts and i turned to look up at her.
"whats wrong with you? i've called your name twice now."
"sorry, i was texting someone." i said, sitting up momentarily to fix my pillows.
"who?" she asked, walking over to me.
"actually, i don't really know him. i just met him at the coffee shop." i replied.
"it's a him? okay, you have to give me his number." she said, plopping down on the couch next to me.
"what? no! that's an invasion of privacy!" i whisper-yelled at her.
"there's nobody else in this house besides us, sooyoung, there's no need to whisper."
"fine. THAT'S AN INVASION OF PRIVACY." i yelled, getting closer to her face. she exaggeratedly coughed and made a face as if my breath stunk.
"gross. i didn't mean that you had to yell." she said, crossing her arms.
"well, i'm telling you, i'm not giving you a stranger's number." i said.
"then ask him." she suggested, gesturing at my phone.
"ask him....what?" i looked at her, almost sure that i knew what she wanted.
"ask him if i can have his number. then it's not an invasion of privacy, right?"
i looked at her in confusion, before finally giving in.
"fine. i'll ask him."
she squealed in excitement as i turned on my phone again.
