Imagine Peter going to Tony and asking for advice on how to ask you on a date. Unbeknownst to them, you're just around the corner and hear everything.

. .

. .

Sitting on a concrete low wall outside of Avengers Headquarters, Peter kicks his heels against the wall anxiously as he awaits Tony's presence. Something has been weighing on his mind for the passed few days and while he had a handful of adults to talk to, he wanted to talk to Tony.

Not much longer, a burnt orange Audi R8 skids to a stop and Tony Stark exits.

Hopping off the wall, Peter is quick to follow. "M-Mr. Stark! Do you have a moment?"

Tony glances up from his holographic watch and shrugs. "Sure, kid. Talk and walk."

"Right." Matching Tony's stride, Peter shoves his hands into the pockets of his jeans. "Well.. I, uh, I need some advice."

"Mhmm. Kind of figured that."

"About Y/N. You know, the new recruit Clint found?"

Tony's step falters as he glances down at Peter, a smirk slowly forming. Powering down his watch, Tony then slings an arm around Peter's shoulders. "Do I detect a blush?"

Peter groans. "Please don't make me regret talking to you about this, Mr. Stark. Out of everyone I figured it'd be easier to speak with you."

"Okay, okay. So what's up? What has Y/N done to that magnificent brain of yours that has you so frazzled?"

"Well you see, the thing is, is that Y/N is actually pretty cool."

"And..?"

"We've been hanging out and I've been trying to work up the nerve to-"

"Ask her out?" Tony muses, grinning.

"Shh!" Peter is quick to shush him, glancing around nervously to make sure no one overheard. "Can you not say that so loud?"

"What?" He feigns innocence. "Come on, kid. Everyone knows you and Y/N hang out. Anyone with eyes can see that girl hangs off every word that comes out of your mouth."

"No, but- wait.. really?!" Peter slowly grins and Tony rolls his eyes, chuckling.

"Come on, Parker. Get it together. Tell Uncle Tony what it is you need."

"I don't know- I need," he starts and then sighs when he can't put together what he wants to say. "I want to ask Y/N out on a date, but I don't know how or what to even do on the date if she agrees. And you- you and Miss Potts are such the perfect couple, and she seems so happy with you so I thought-"

"Say no more. Don't worry about it, kid. I got this."

As Tony steers Peter around the corner while speaking of extravagant date ideas, you stand up from underneath a desk where you had dropped a pen. On one hand you're happy to know that Peter's feelings for you run more along the lines of a romantic partnership rather than just a platonic one, but on the other you're wary of what Tony is putting into Peter's head.

You're a simple and laid back person, and while Tony Stark is a decent person.. his ideas are a little over the top. Peter is absolutely perfect the way he is and anything Tony suggests is the complete opposite of him.

As one horrible idea pops up after the last, you groan to yourself. "I guess I'm just gonna have to take matters into my own hands."

After getting permission from Captain Rogers to let Ned and Michelle on base, two teens who Peter introduced you to since you were all in the same age group, they helped you put together the ultimate down-to-Earth pajama date party in the communal lounge. When they had realized what you were up to, Ned was all too happy to gather all of Peter's favorite movies and games. Michelle was happy too, she then being the one to find all the numbers to Peter's favorite take-out places.

Lots of blankets and pillows were involved, and Clint and Bucky came through by relocating some of the arcade games from the Game Room into the lounge. When Ned had seen the Star Wars pinball machine, Michelle had to drag him out by the ear.

So dressed in your favorite black and purple full length pajama set, you anxiously await Peter's arrival. Fifteen minutes later Peter is being shoved into the lounge in pink Hello Kitty pajama pants and an 'I survived my trip to NYC' t-shirt.

"Uh.. what's going on?"

You snort at his bewildered expression and mockingly salute a sniggering Sam and Bucky as they block Peter's exit. "Hey, Peter." You wait until he turns his attention on you, he stepping deeper into the room. "So I may have overheard you talking to Tony the other day." His eyes subtly widen and you smother a grin at his expense. "Tony is awesome and I'm sure Miss Pepper adores his dates, but I adore you more than any expensive date he most likely suggested to you."

"Y-You do?"

"Yes. I much rather stay in, and pig out on pizza and wings and Chinese. I'm cool with chilling in your shirt, or mine-"

Sam scoffs. "Any clothes you wearin' better be yours, kid."

"Fuck off, Wilson!" Bucky snorts with laughter and you turn a dazzling smile on Peter which has his shoulders slumping with relief. "I rather lay on the floor of pillows, throw my legs over yours, and watch movies than get all fancy and sit awkwardly in some restaurant we probably won't even like."

"So you planned all this?" He says, gesturing around the room.

"Yeah. With the help of Ned and Michelle, of course. There's a mixture of all your favorite movies and mine, and some of your favorite take-out foods as well."

"Wow. You really- you really went all out."

You shrug. "It's what you do for someone you like. I mean, you were gonna ask me out on a date. Right?" Peter hesitates and your stomach drops. "Oh god. Please tell me I didn't hear wrong? This is so weird. I'm really so-"

"Y/N. Y/N!" Peter chuckles. "You didn't hear wrong."

"Oh thank Thor."

Peter steps closer to you, standing to your right and nudging you with his elbow. "So you did all this for me?"

"Yeah." You sheepishly nudge him back. "I figured you'd appreciate being lazy for once. Natasha even gave me the day off of training when she figured out what I was planning."

"She ships it."

"Totally," you laugh. "So what do you say, Parker? Will you join me on this date I planned for us?"

Offering you his elbow, Peter smiles. "It would be an honor."
