Truth

-the property (as of a statement) of being in accord with fact or reality

You walked out of Gabriel's room and let out a mental groan.

You decided to walk back to Anya's room to get some early rest. As you walked back, Antonio was also walking in the same hallway. With the hallway being, well a hallway that only connected to the deck and other doors, it wasn't easy to avoid him. If you didn't know about the other three hating that man's guts with their whole soul, you would have been fine and relaxed with just bumping into him.

Though that wasn't the case.

"Oh! Hola Y/n!" he grinned.

'How the fuck is this walking ray of sunshine a bad person'

'Then again, staring at the sun hurts your eyes...'

You snapped out of your thoughts as soon as possible to avoid going deeper into them. "Oh hey" you replied.

"Have you eaten yet?" he asked. You shook your head and his expression quickly changed into one of what looked like to be utter shock. "Dios Mio! (my god [omg]) I was going to go to the kitchen for food, come with me" he offered.

You tried giving him a snakey glare, hoping that he would get the idea that you didn't want to go with him but he didn't notice it. You ended up going to the kitchen with him as he sat down and motioned you to take a seat, and you did so.

There was what looked like a yellowish weird cake thing on the table. He took a slice of it and aate, giving you a weird look as you hesitated.

"Try it! It is a dish from my country. Torta de patata!" he said while chewing.

You got a slice of it and ate. 'It isn't half bad'

As you ate you looked at him. He looked innocent but the words of displeasure about him echoed and lingered in your mind. You had the urge to question him.

"So... you're in charge of the colonies in the philippines?" you questioned.

"Ah! Si! I am." he happily replied still eating. "Cool. is that the only country you oversee?" you asked him again as he shook his head while still eating.

"Why do you have control over them-? i mean the countries. Like are you a general or something?" you asked. He was about to get another piece but stopped after hearing your question.

His gaze shifted. His expression was unreadable. "Why do you ask?" he asked you back.

'Crap! He might be catching onto me'

"W-well, i'm curious about everyone. I just want to become closer with you that's all. I also want to know what kind of leader you are haha..." you said, anxiety hidenly traced in your words.

He suddenly frowned. "You think i'm a bad leader? A bad person?"

'You spoke too much!' you bit the inner side of your cheek. 'Think of something. quick'

"No! That isn't it. I meant...i wanted to know what kind of leader you are, as in, like, um... the way a person leads reflects on how they act so you must be a good leader because you're so kind" you spluttered out.

He slightly tilted his head in confusion then nodded before smiling and indulging into another slice of the food. You gave him a blank look. "So will you answer my question...?"

"You already answered it for me! You said that i'm kind so i'm a kind leader" he replied, oblivious to your intentions.

"Oh okay. I guess that's it i want to ask you, i think i should be doing something productive now so bye" you said standing up from your seat getting ready to leave.

Antonio frowned. "You may have no more business with me but i have something with you" he said. You turned to face him standing by the door, just in case it was something quick so that you could leave right away.

"What is it?"

He pulled out something from the pocket of his coat and in his hands was a small brown leather notebook. Your eyes slightly widened at the sight then you sat back down. "Um, i think that's mine" you stated.

"I know. I was going to give this to you" he said. 'Then give it now' you mentally pleaded.

"I thought you would not care since you are a really kind and considerate girl, so i took a look in it" he smiled. "You were under the ship of Captain Kirkland and you were confused and weirded out in that time, no?" he inquired. You simply nodded.

He frowned even more and had an expression of sympathy of guilt. "You did all their work like a slave! That's terrible" he said. 'But that's what you're doing to me now..'

"What?! I would never!" he suddenly exclaimed. You flinched you probably said your thoughts out loud....

"Sorry. I didn't' mean to say that out loud."

"So you think that?"

"..."

"You aren't a slave. You entertain me when you work and stay here." he said, you nodded. You reached out for your journal which was in front of him as he said that. You quickly snatched t and shoved it in your pocket.

"I understand. Thanks for the food and telling me so" you said and finally rushed out of the room in a calm manner.

You walked into the room you shared with Anya and came in to see she wasn't inside. You merely shrugged, locking the door. You sat down at your hammock shifting to the side so that you could lay down. You got your journal from your pocket and decided to reread the thing's you've written just to know what information or things Antonio knows and read.

You flipped through the pages silently quickly scanning them. Your brows furrowed reading them quickly, they were just your observances and complaints about being under the british ship in each day.

Knock!

Knock!

Knock!

Your head turned to the door as the knocking stopped. You hid the journal in your pocket and walked to the door unlocking it.

Immediately as the door opened a ma suddenly spoke. "Mexico, the captain's loo-" the man stopped talking after looking at you.

"Who are you?" he raised a brow. He had somewhat short, spiky dirty blond or light brown hair with sideburns, and eyes that were viridian. He was a tall man with a scarf around his neck. "I'm Y/n L/n." you introduced yourself. Before anyone could speak again a girl's voice came from the hall.

"Big brother!" a girl suddenly appeared to his side. "Where's mexico? Open the door so that you could call her" the voice said. The door suddenly creaked open wider and you turned to see a girl with short auburn hair and as bright green eyes as the taller man. "Oh... who are you?" she asked.

"I'm y/n l/n. Who are you?" you asked.

Before what looked like the brunette girl was going to answer the man started to shut the door in your face before you pushed it back.

"Brother! Don't do that!" the girl nudged him.

"I'm Emma and that is Abel" she gave a warm smile as the man let out a small grunt.

You smiled back. "Cool. so what country are you?" you asked in a tone as if it were nothing.

Their eyes widened at your question.

Their expressions looked of shock and something else. 'Were they human also? Is the country thing not true?'

"How do you know the truth human...?"
