Morning came earlier than anticipated for Y/N. Obnoxious rays of blinding light peeked through the curtains, hitting Y/N's face. The night's soundtrack of passing vehicles and the indistinct chatter of passersby had turned twice as loud in the morning, indicating that it was time to wake up.
The room was still mostly desolate, the exception being Y/N's sleeping bag, suitcases, and boxes containing her stuff. She assumed her parents brought them in while she slept. She wished she could sleep in but Y/N's mom would prefer not to procrastinate. Eventually, the girl found enough self loathing to get up and start the day.
Y/N searched and sorted through her suitcases till she found an outfit that she didn't entirely hate. In all honesty, Y/N didn't care about making a great first impression- a decent one was fine. After gathering her things, the girl began her usual morning routine. 'God, I'm so tired,' Y/N thought as she contemplated taking a nap without her mother finding out. Ultimately, she decided against it. She looked at the clock on her way to the kitchen.
It was time to go.
Cue the Time Skip
Y/N stood at the base of the staircase, wondering what door led to her homeroom. All the doors looked identical and frustratingly enough, none had any number plaques indicating what they were. The newcomer looked around and wondered if she should ask somebody for assistance but she felt weird.
"Hello?"
The unexpected voice startled Y/N, causing her to turn quickly. She turned around to see a girl with black- almost blue hair and cerulean eyes. The blue haired girl smiled politely despite Y/N's initial reaction to her.
"Hello," Y/N replied, now with a smile she hoped was nice enough. 'I wonder if I can ask her... would that be too presumptuous?', the new student thought. She decided on waiting for the right moment to ask. If she was lucky, she would have classes with the blue haired girl.
"Hello! I'm Marinette Dupain-Cheng. Is everything okay? You look a bit distraught." Marinette took a good look at the girl in front of her. Bright, E/C eyes and H/C hair. She had a nervous smile but Marinette understood- the stranger was new after all.
"Nice to meet you, Marinette. I'm Y/N L/N." Y/N relaxed a little more; she was glad Marinette seemed to be pleasant. "Well, I was given my schedule but I've no idea which class is which. All the doors look the same...or is it just me?"
Marinette chuckled. "No, it's certainly a problem for the new kids but you'll get used to it. May I?" The blue haired girl asked for Y/N's schedule and Y/N complied happily.
"Well...,' Marinette said after a few seconds. "You have homeroom with Ms. Bustier. You're welcome to come with me and my friend, Alya. What do you say?"
The school bell rang right on cue after Marinette finished her question, like it had been waiting.
Y/N glanced at Marinette and nodded. "Sure, let's go." The new girl smiled to herself as she followed her new acquaintances.
