Saturday was reserved for the girls.
Every Saturday, Alya, Marinette, and Y/N would make plans and hang out the entire day. This time, the trip decided on going to the mall.
With Valentine's day approaching, Alya couldn't resist. She said she wanted to find something Nino would love. Marinette perked up at the reminder of one of her favorite holidays and another chance to probably confess her true feelings to Adrien. Y/N simply mentioned she'd be there to help her friends but she had no Valentine's Day plans herself.
The first thing on the girls' mall itinerary was the movies. They had agreed on watching a random movie and ended up watching a pretty good hero movie that needed a lot of prior knowledge to be able to understand the context but it was still pretty good.
After that, the girls agreed they were kinda hungry. So they made their way to the mall's courtyard and bought food from whatever food kiosk they fancied. Marinette surprised Alya and Y/N by bringing in cupcakes from home for them.
Finally, after having rested, Alya said she'd be going to different music stores around the mall to find something for Nino, but she said Marinette and Y/N could go wherever they wanted since she'd be taking a while. Not to mention, Marinette had been dying to the craft store since she planned on making something for Adrien. Marinette and Y/N agreed and parted ways with Alya after agreeing on a meeting place should anything happen.
So, Marinette and Y/N made their way to the craft store. Upon entering, they looked in amazement at the Valentine's Day craft supplies. Absolutely giddy with joy and creative juices, the girls set off. They perused and picked any craft items that they saw as necessary and eventually walked to the nearest available cashier.
The two girls giggled and helped each other carry the semi-heavy basket by holding it together with one hand each. As they placed their items on the counter, the cashier, an older lady, smiled kindly at them. "Did you find everything okay?" She began ringing them up.
Marinette and Y/N glanced at each other before nodding. "We sure did, thank you." Both girls looked at each other just a little longer and giggled some more. It was just one of those moods when they couldn't stop smiling. They were interrupted by the cashier.
"Well, ladies, your total is 30€. We're also having a Valentine's Day special the entire month of February exclusively for couples. Is that something that would interest you two ladies?" She smiled at the two girls, ready to go through with the purchase.
"Couples?!" Marinette accidentally let go of the empty basket. Her face flushed as she looked at the equally embarrassed Y/N for some kind of answer. In typical Marinette fashion, Marinette stuttered and fumbled for answer until she quickly let the oblivious cashier that they were just good friends. Y/N nodded quickly. "I'm just helping her find stuff for her boyfriend."
The poor cashier blushed and apologized. "I'm so sorry, girls." She discounted their total as an apology and sent them on their way once they were over the worst of their shared embarrassment.
Marinette and Y/N were able to laugh it off minutes later as they looked for Alya. They'd make sure to tell her about it.
"I didn't mean to react that way, Y/N. Trust me, if I wasn't so hung up on Adrien, I'd definitely be interested", Marinette mentioned as she caught sight of Alya in the distance.
Confused, Y/N went with it, despite the fluffy feeling she got from her friend's complement. "No cap, I'd definitely date you. You're pretty much the coolest, sweetest girl I've met."
Both girls glanced at each other again before cracking smiles at each other.
