Just as promised, Adrien, Nino, and Y/N all met up to hang out.
The trio had planned their day for a week now and after cross checking schedules, they found an adequate time to hang out. They decided to hang out at the Ménagerie du Jardin des Plantes- with Adrien's bodyguard as a chaperone, of course.
After school, Adrien's chaperone picked the three friends up and drove straight to the zoo. It wasn't long until one of Adrien's many fans spotted him among the other zoo patrons, but fortunately, his chaperone was there to fend them off from Adrien and his friends. Adrien didn't want to make a huge scene of his appearance so he took off with Y/N and Nino into the closest gift shop.
From there, Nino shoved his blonde buddy into a changing booth with an armful of gift shop clothes- a far cry from his designer looks. After making sure it was safe to come out, Adrien stepped out of the changing booth, confident in his foolproof disguise. They paid for the merchandise and left quickly, urgently wanting to hang out again.
From then on, it's as if Adrien Agreste had never stepped foot at the zoo. Nobody even looked twice at the trio of buddies. They finally had time to look at the animals they wanted to see. It was a bit odd that Nino spent a bit more time at the reptile exhibit with the turtles and it was funny to catch Adrien purring as he looked at the different felines, but Y/N dismissed it as her friends being dorks.
It was once Adrien's chaperone finally caught up to them that they realized it was time to go. The three friends chatted happily on their way to the exit but Adrien failed to see a small pit in the brick path, causing him to trip and drop his hat and sunglasses. Luckily, he didn't fall and nobody saw them...
Nobody except Wayhem.
Y/N hadn't known about Wayhem so she was just surprised to see a Great Value versión of Adrien staring at them in ecstatic shock. She looked back at Adrien who smiled the lookalike as if he was an old friend.
"Hey, Wayhem! How are you?" Adrien asked as he put his sunglasses back on, smiling kindly at Wayhem.
By the looks of it, Wayhem was a bit too comfortable with Adrien, not that the latter minded since he returned the hug Wayhem gave him. "I'm awesome, thanks! It's so cool that I just bumped into you, Adrien!" He waved excitedly at Nino, who Y/N assumed was also acquainted with. "It's nice to meet you, by the way! I'm Wayhem, Adrien's number one fan!"
As if it wasn't obvious.
"It's really nice to meet you, Wayhem. I'm Y/N, Nino and Adrien's-" Y/N was going to finish introducing herself when Wayhem had cut in, incorrectly finishing her sentence.
"His girlfriend, right? Yeah, some other fans and I see you guys together all the time. It's really cool how you guys have been able to keep your relationship under wraps since I haven't seen any of it on the news, but you know me, Adrien- I'll never tell if you don't want me to." Wayhem looked to his idol, beaming from just talking to him.
Y/N exchanged glances with Adrien and smiled awkwardly. "We're not dating, actually. I was just saying we're friends." She understood where the confusion came from but still, the sheer confidence in Wayhem's theory put her off slightly.
Adrien shared the same sentiment. "Yeah, Y/N and I just close friends. Just like Nino is to me. Still, Wayhem, I'm really proud of you for not slipping up and spilling the beans on me. I knew I could count on you." He knew they needed to get back home on time so he was just using the best tactic possible to get Wayhem off their trail. "Listen, I have to go but I'll be sure to call you later, kay?"
Elated, Wayhem gave the young model a goodbye hug and went on his way. As soon as he was gone, Adrien, Nino, and Y/N all shared glances. "Well, that was totally weird", Nino mumbled, eager to break the silence.
"I'll say", Y/N and Adrien replied in unison. They both looked at each other and grinned, embarrassed but kinda over the ordeal.
"To be honest, dudes, I completely get where he's coming from- you two are almost inseparable. If I didn't know any better, I'd totally think you two are an item", Nino mused. He grinned proudly at their blushing faces. "But luckily, I know better."
