Adrien was once again at another photoshoot. Like always, it was at the Place des Vosges. This time, he was taking a break while the people in charge of his makeup and hair spruced him up. As he sat still, Adrien let his eyes wander.
Past his makeup artist's shoulder, Adrien caught a glimpse of Y/N sitting on a bench, reading a book under a shady tree. He perked up, bored of just sitting around. He called for his photographer.
"What time do you think we could wrap this up?" Adrien asked as he shot glances at Y/N.
"Impatient, are we", asked the photographer as he clicked through the pictures he took. "I'm kidding. It won't be long now. It'll just be a few more pictures- a couple more minutes and that's it."
Adrien sighed in relief, thanking his lucky stars he could relish in hanging out with somebody who's company he enjoyed. "Alright, then I say we should wrap things up." He swiftly slid off his makeup chair and went back to their designated photography spot.
Typically, Adrien would progressively become more and more tired as the photo shoot progressed, growing weary of his photographer's constant nagging and somewhat ridiculous demands. However, since he discovered he realized the window of time he had between the end of his photo shoot and his journey back home, he felt a new wave of energy overcome him. He took to the photographer's commands as if they were second nature, finishing up the photo shoot in a matter of minutes.
After that, the photographer and makeup artists packed their things and left Adrien. Adrien's bodyguard task was to promptly take Adrien back home once the shoot was over at 4pm. However, since they finished the shot early, Adrien figured he had some time before he actually went home.
"I just have to talk to my friend over there, it won't be long", Adrien told his bodyguard before running off to talk to Y/N. Fortunately, she was still there.
The model made his way over to his classmate carefully. He planned on sneaking up on her just like she did the other day. It didn't really go as planned once a fan saw him and started yelling excitedly. Thank goodness his bodyguard was there. He really didn't feel like running and hiding that day.
Once Adrien's bodyguard fended off the small mob of fans, Adrien managed to take a seat next to Y/N. "Hey, Y/N." Not his smoothest greeting, but it worked.
"Hey, Adrien." Y/N put a bookmark in her book, shut it, and faced her friendly acquaintance. "How are you? I saw you finishing up your photo shoot? How you feeling?"
"I can't really complain", Adrien sighed in modest relief as he relaxed on the bench. "It was the last shoot of the day, thank goodness." He chuckled and looked at her. He wouldn't let her know but it did catch him off guard when he realized she acknowledged his presence before he did.
"Is it always like this?" Y/N asked as she glanced at the people in the park. Some, not all, had their eyes set on both Y/N and Adrien. "I'm a little weirded out, but I'm guessing you don't mind it as much anymore?" She gave him an awkward chuckle.
"Well if I'm by myself, I don't really mind it. It does get kind of annoying or awkward when I'm with friends. For example, the other day Nino and I went to the Carrousel du Louvre. Everything was going great till I heard somebody say that I was at one of the stores there. I don't mind the exercise but I didn't go to the mall to have my friend and I chased down." Adrien realized he sounded bitter and almost ungrateful, but it wasn't like that at all.
"Don't get me wrong; I love my fans but just for a while, I'd like to not be seen as some super cool celebrity. I'd like to be a normal guy for once." Adrien shrugged before shaking his head. "Sorry, it seems like I'm just complaining."
"Not really. It's understandable, Adrien. You're a celebrity and that comes with its own responsibility. Once in a while, our responsibilities wear us out and it's natural to want a break." Y/N hesitated but settled on patting his hand and smiling softly. "I don't want to seem too forward but if you want somebody to talk to, I'm here. You've got my number. Call me and we three can hang out like normal kids."
Adrien quickly glanced at her hand once he felt it patting his own. The corners of his lips twitched into a small grin. "Yeah, that sounds like a great idea." He looked around to make sure his bodyguard wasn't around before leaning into Y/N's ear to whisper something. "I'm pretty sure I can bribe my bodyguard to letting us three hang out alone."
Y/N snickered. "Goodness, I didn't know you were a rebel, Adrien." She shrugged before agreeing to his plan. "Okay, fine. I like your plan." She grinned coyly, as if their silly, stupid plan were a precious secret.
The two would've just enjoyed each other's company and occasional giggle or snicker but a notification bell from Y/N's phone ruined the mood. "Ah, shoot. I gotta go. I have to run some errands." She packed her book into her bag and got up, turning to face Adrien. He had also decided to stand up seeing as his friend was now leaving. "Listen, I love your plan. Text me any other details to settle and you know, we can meet up. Till then, see you later!"
Adrien grinned confidently. "Yeah, definitely." Having taken Y/N's knack for hesitating into account, Adrien took the liberty of giving his new friend a quick hug. "Take care. See you at school."
Y/N hugged him back before breaking the embrace. "See you, Adrien."
