She's  so frightened with wet cheeks glistening in the sun. Everyone is tense and unsure as we are all suppose to be friends, an alliance, made a long time ago. Our alphas are bonded in a way that if I never witnessed it I would never have believed it. But here we are in a moment of what feels like betrayal, the closeness... the feeling of loyal being clouded.

"Mike if I let her go she's going to run" Ethan speaks firmly trying to keep calm

I watch as he takes another step closer his eyes a blaze and murderous glare, what Ethan once meant to him gone.

I don't understand it, doesn't mike know Ethan enough to know he wouldn't hurt her, clearly now knowing she's his mate but, There's nothing I can do, any of us can do this is mike we are talking about. Liam and Jason have been ordered to stand back frozen in their spots still growling lowly not even moving an inch as mike and beta Mathews stalk towards him.

I take a few steps forward, shantal must feel the mate bond but shes looking everywhere except at mike.

"Stand down mike... I didn't know" He warns, his eyes darkening,

He loosens his arm around her neck trying to get mike to back down. None of us knew not even mike.

"Shantal" I speak loudly causing mike to look to me growling before taking another step to Ethan

I ignore them, I need to get her out of the way

"He's going to let you go" i glance to Ethan than back to her frightened face

"She will run" Ethan mindlinks cautiously

"It will be much safer if you don't run" mike growls again at my words. your not making this any better mike.

"Let go, I've got her" I mindlink

The moment Ethan releases her is when everything turned to shit.

Mike transformed into a very angry large red furred wolf and lunges straight for Ethan, both Liam and Jason circle Carson not attacking just keeping him back and of course..

Shantal ran.

She doesn't shift into her wolf Like I expected her to do, I think maybe the sedative is still lingering and her wolf is to weak so I decide to not shift and sprint off in the direction she took, leaving the vicious growls and what ever was happening behind me. I'm sure they can all handle themselves. I hope.

I follow her deeper into the Forrest as I feel myself gaining on her but shit she's fast. My pace slows due to the dense Forrest the branches and sticks it's like everything has been squished together making it hard to get through but I easily follow the path she has made.

I hear running water up head as it becomes louder and louder fearing I'm going to lose her scent if she makes it to the water I push forward harder.

I finally see her, her movements are fast and swift as I find myself analysing her body.

She has countless injuries all past ones and I'm amazed to see her still run so quickly.

Finally reaching her I grab her by the waist and tackle her to the ground. We land hard as I pull her on top of me taking most of the impact.

"Let me go" she screams at me, Thrashing her arms trying to get me off

"It's ok" as I release my hold on her waist and move away from her body

"I'm not going to hurt you" I repeat in frustration

She's breathing heavily well we both are as she stares back at me, now I don't even know what to say my only thought was stopping her from running.
