Fred's POV
I headed to the Great Hall alongside George. We both sat down, noticing that Liz was nowhere to be seen. "Does anyone know where Liz went? She's normally here before us," I asked my tablemates.
"No idea, but Ron and Hermione are gone too," Harry replied. "I've also heard that Fleur Delacour's little sister is missing, along with Cho Chang in Ravenclaw. No one has seen them this morning."
"At all?" George asked.
"At all." Angelina budded in.
"Where could they have gone?" I asked.
"Merlin knows, but I really need them to be here today. Ron and Hermione, I mean. The second task is today and I can't do this without them there," Harry told me.
"How could they just all disappear without a trace like that?" I continued to question everyone around us. I grabbed some eggs and bacon, tossing them onto my place and beginning to eat.
"No idea," Alicia joined in. "But everyone has tried notifying the professors and they aren't doing anything about it. They're acting like it's nothing at all."
I stopped eating and looked at Alicia. "Nothing? How can they just stand aside when five students have all gone missing when they were all seen just last night?"
"I have no idea, but it's driving everyone mad. I heard a few Slytherins are going to start a riot tomorrow if they aren't found or if no one is doing anything," Angelina said.
"And I will gladly join them," I said a little bit loudly. "This is my girlfriend, here. And my brother. I'm not about to let them just slip through my fingers and not do anything about it. Not only that, I'd lose my head over it and Mum would kill me. And how do five people going missing in one night?"
"Mr. Weasley, if I'm hearing you correctly, you said five students are missing?" Professor McGonagall asked from behind me. I spun around in my seat to face her.
"Yes, five. Fleur's sister, Cho Chang, Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley, and Elizabeth Baker," I replied. A wave of shock overwhelmed her expression.
"There must be a mistake," Professor McGonagall said with hand placed over her heart. "You're sure all five are missing?"
"As sure as I am a Weasley," I answered honestly.
"Only four students were supposed to have been pulled aside for the day. That's all," Professor McGonagall turned to the front table of professors. "Professor Dumbledore! Professor Moody!"
Dumbledore and Moody hurried over to us and I stood up along with them. "What's the matter, Minerva?" Dumbledore asked her.
"There were only supposed to be four students pulled aside for today, correct?" She asked him.
"Correct," He and Moody said at once.
"Mr. Weasley here says that five students have been pulled aside. The addition being Ms. Baker," Everyone looked at me, including students at the other tables. "Surely this is a simple mistake, or-...." No one moved. It was all quiet now. "We must notify her parents immediately-"
"There will be no need for that, Professor," Moody said, interrupting Professor McGonagall. "We will search the grounds for her to see if she may just be somewhere in the castle. If she is not found, then we'll send a letter."
"Agreed," Dubledore said. Then he called out to the crowd, "Everyone is to remain in the Great Hall! Classes are suspended until further notice!" Everyone quietly whispered at their tables. No one had a cue what was going in but myself and a few other Gryffindors sitting near my spot. "Fred, come with me to my office, please. Professors, have the Heads of House search common rooms, others search classrooms and ghost search the towers and Quidditch Pitch."
Dumbledore began to walk towards the doors of the Great Hall, while teachers gathered and spoke among themselves to figure out who would go where. I hesitated for a moment, then sheepishly followed Dumbledore. I felt hundreds of eyes on me as I was the only one allowed to leave. We walked to the Headmaster's office, me sitting down in front of Dumbledore's desk, him facing me.
"I've taken notice on your most recent connection with Ms. Baker," Dumbledore began simply, leaning himself on the desk with his arms, his fingers tied into each other. "How close are the two of you, as of now?"
"Well, she's my girlfriend and we've known each other for years," I told him honestly.
"Do you know of any place in the entire school that she could be at the moment?"
"No. Elizabeth hasn't missed breakfast once. She is always there before me and George, and she's never late. Even if she was, I would've spotted her in the common room."
"When was the last time you saw her?" Dumbledore asked.
"Last night," I replied. "We were in the common room before going to bed and we had been going over our O.W.L.s review from Defense Against the Dark Arts. Then she went to bed and I haven't seen her since."
"Do you still happen to be in the possession of the Marauder's Map?" Dumbledore asked with not even the bat of an eye.
"How did you-"
"Do you have it?" He pressed on.
"No," I replied. "But I know who does."
