Voldemort spoke to all of us after the Death Eaters had been taken aback. They all retreated from the castle, only to meet with him. I learned of Snape's death, and I was still unsure of where Fred was. Bill had taken me to a classroom and had me on lockdown, making sure that me and the baby were safe. He had taken the big brother role on before Fred and I had even married, which I was okay with, but he had kept me from Fred for too long.

I broke past Bill and walked towards the Great Hall, where most everyone had gathered to see their loved ones either injured or dead. Bill stopped me before I entered the hall, saying this before I was allowed to go in:

"Whatever you see in there, Elizabeth," Bill said. "No matter who is on that floor, you have to keep yourself together. For Fred. For the baby. For you. Promise me?"

"Yeah, I promise," I told him honestly. "Now let me in. Please."

Bill moved out of the way and I wandered in. I saw too many familiar faces on the floor, their last breaths etched upon their faces. I nearly broke down one step into the room. I found that Harry, Ron and Hermione were only steps ahead of me. I saw Tonks and Remus on the floor.

"No." I let a tear slip. They were my friends. "Not you two. What about Teddy?" They had a son, and now he'd never meet his parents. He would be the next Harry, and I never wanted that. For anyone.

I continued walking, staring at all the people lined along the floor. Before I could go any farther, I was wrapped in a hug, hearing the sounds of my brother-in-law crying. "Georgie? What's wrong?" I hugged him back, unable to see anything over his shoulders because he was taller than me. He kept crying, long and loud. I almost cried just from the sounds he was making.

He let go of me and hugged Arthur, and Ron hugged me before I could see anything. He was crying too. "Oh my lord," Bill said. Even he started crying. Ron let go of me and I finally got to see why they were all crying. I immediately regretted looking.

I fell to my knees right where I was. I couldn't move. Tears fell at the most rapid pace. The world stopped. My world.... Stopped. I'm sure my heart did for a moment, too. I barely managed to crawl over to him. Molly was sitting next to him too, stroking his head. "Wake up. Dammit, Freddie, wake up. Wake up!" My crying took over me, and I let out long, painful sobs. "Why isn't he waking up?!? Freddie.....?"

I placed a hand on his chest, hoping to feel a heartbeat, but felt nothing. Not even a breath. I used that same hand and ran it over his red hair. I pet his face lightly, hoping it would wake him. He couldn't be dead. He couldn't be!!

"You can't be dead, Freddie. We were going to be happy, remember? Live forever? We were supposed to make it through this together. The four of us. Not just three. Please, get up...." I reminded him of our promise. He promised me that he'd always love and cherish me. Til death do us part. I made the same promise to him. "You can't die.... Not now.... Not ever.... Wake up, Fred."

"Elizabeth," I heard from behind me. The person grabbed my hand, but I yanked it away. "He's gone."

"No he's not!" I spun my head around to look at a shocked Percy. "He can't be! He's not dead, he's not!"

"Liz..." George said softly. I broke. I stood up weakly and hugged him. Both of us stood there and cried. It seemed like nothing would ever be okay again.

"Fred's...... dead."
