With the dull, sharp, and blinding pain Asher collapsed to his knees as his hands went to rest on the ground before rising one to wipe the blood dripping from his nose. The man in front of him, the man who called himself his brother, had hit him badly with a bat. This was fifth such conflict between the two, all of which had begun and ended with Farhan.
In the beginning, the fights had been limited to just angry, heated discussions but now they had come to blows and hit each other badly. How could the man so beloved of Eman continuously fight and even hit his elder brother Asher?
Soon After the conflict began, their father entered asking angrily, "What is wrong with you two? From the moment you enter the house, you are at each other's throats. When will you both grow up and stop with this outrageous behaviour?"
Without a word or a look, they stopped fighting and went their separate ways.
Farhan had chosen to go outside and listen to some music while playing games to refresh his mind. For two hours he entertained himself until his Pa came out and said, "What are you doing? "
He replied while playing a game," I'm listening to music."
"For God's sake Farhan, what about your exams?" his father gritted his teeth.
"What about them?" He pouted with a careless retort." I have read as much as I want to read".
"Is there not still more to read? "His Pa replied.
Farhan was his own man and he did what he wanted. Getting up, he pushed his father saying, "Step aside Pa, my exams are my problem, not yours. Reading, studying, exam... what rubbish. Living and enjoying life is forbidden in this house. What the hell is this?" He said angrily and went towards his room.
The next morning Farhan went out with his friends for a bike ride. Three boys of the group were riding bikes as normal, laid back, and simply enjoying the act. But the last was riding in a rushed fashion, almost like he was riding away from something.
He rode at incredible speeds, ignoring basic safety rules when it came to traffic. He repeatedly overtakes the bike four times. He would ride one wheel, turn without looking, ride in odd zig-zag patterns, riding in the wrong direction on one-way roads, and ignored traffic signals. Although it should've been expected, acting as such was very common for Farhan.
After the risking riding, Farhan and his friends made it to a hotel and got themselves a room that was filled to the brim with smoke that left the room with a strange kind of smell.
In all, the room was a complete mess. It's now the third time in the past month that the boys had found themselves in this room, each with different types of wine and cigarettes.
It had gotten to the point where alcohol and cigarettes weren't hard for them to get. Because of this little fact, Farhan and his friends found themselves swimming in the fog of drunkness. Their eyes were red, they stumbled around the room when they tried to walk, and when they looked about the room, nothing made sense, almost like they were looking at it through a filter.
Feeling the pull of drunken exhaustion, Farhan turns off the lamp on the side table and sprawls out on the bed, quickly joining his friends in a deep, dreamless sleep.
Not too long after their time at the hotel, maybe a few days, the friends found themselves in the Red light Area. They had been their frequent customers, not that many people knew better. Soon, they were surrounded by girls of every age in clothes so scarce that it had to be argued that they were even there.
The girls danced and sang around them, bringing enjoyment to each of them, and of course, the boy in the middle was the same whom poor Eman had future dreams of as a life partner. Little did she know that this boy was secretly a disgusting human.
There soon came a day that Eman found out about Farhan's frequent-flyer trips to the red light area, but how? That was not clear, but that was not important either, what was important was that she now knew the true face of this character she had seen.
Biting her lips, she rubbed at her face, clearing the fog from her eyes. what is the feeling when you're trapped in a Plot? she wondered.
If you meet me one-hundred times as before, but what has happened has never been removed from my heart.
She whispered in an aching sound.
Yamna did her best to calm Eman and encourage her that she could get over this situation. Not after long, Yamna's phone rang, it was Khizer Murtaza, Yamna's cousin, who came to pick her up. Reluctantly, Yamna left with her cousin, leaving Eman to fight her emotions alone.
Eman laid down, sleep evading her with the skill of the greatest escape artists. How could she sleep without talking to him? She buried her head as her eyes began to water and she cried well into the night.
