Broken Knowledge

Chapter 4

     (Back on a computer again, sorry!)

     "Well first off," CC started."I'm gonna need to do a medical examination to have a look at you. The problem might not actually be internal like you think, it might just be on the outside and you just haven't noticed it."

     "Okay!" Alan said."Do what you gotta fucking do! Just keep me alive!"

     Mara watched anxiously as CC did the examination and listened to Alan heartbeat, checked his Ink pressure(and listened to him explain what "bones" are and that human bodies aren't made of ink), and patted his body down like a cop searching someone would to check for injuries.
     When CC felt the area just below Alan's left ribs, she made a perplexed look.
     "We're gonna put a pause on our story for a sec," Aiden, popping out of nowhere, interrupted.
     CC, Mara, and Alan gave Aiden, "what the fuck" looks but froze and looked at him, waiting for permission to continue.
     "50 reads in less than a week? Hoo, hoo, that's great!"
     "Especially for a newbie like me!" Aiden exclaimed.
     "So I'm just interrupting your story to say, thanks for 50 reads, 2 follows, and 5 votes!"
     "Okay, enough interrupting, let's get back to the story!" Aiden disappears as the characters sigh in relief and continue.
     "Alan, I'm going to have to ask you to take your shirt off." CC said slowly, hesitatingly.
     "MY SHIRT," Alan exclaimed."HELL NO!"
     CC have Alan her signature Death Stare."Alan. NOW!"
     "Yes ma'am." Alan said quickly.
     Mara looked away from Alan. Just because of how awkward the situation suddenly became.
     After Alan had his shirt off, Mara looked at him. She saw that he was well muscled. He had several small scars and he had some strange markings that were shaped like a bunch of different things. But the biggest thing was the giant claw sticking out of the left side of his chest.
     He's very handsome without a shirt on. Mara thought to herself. Then she blushed, restrained a giggle, and face palmed. Then she saw the claw too.
     "Holy shit!" Alan, CC, and Mara said in scary unison.
     "Why the hell haven't I noticed the 2 days since I was mauled?!" Alan exclaimed.
     CC felt the edges of the wound with her fingers."It's infected. The infection must be numbing the wound."
     "Well take it out of him CC!" Mara said.
     "I'm afraid that, that's the problem." CC said.
     "What?" Alan and Mara asked.
     "The wound goes into Alan's left lung," CC said."If I just pull it out, he'll die."
