Broken Knowledge

Chapter 10

     Mara woke up cold. Except for her hand. She was still holding Alan's hand, even though they had both fallen asleep.
     Then Mara realized something. I've never seen his eyes. I wonder what they look like.
     Mara decided to take a curiosity risk. She reached and lifted his hair off his face.
     Alan woke up immediately and opened his eyes. And in the split-second she was able to see his eyes, her eyes widened.
     They were both different colors and they were beautiful colors.
     Alan's left eye was a pretty rose-red. It had splashes of darker reds in it.
     His right eye was a beautiful sparkling violet. It practically glowed in the dark.
     Alan pushed Mara's hand away and jumped away from the bars of the cell.
     "Mara what the hell!" He exclaimed.
     Mara blushed in embarrassment and said,"I'm sorry I was just curious."
     Alan sighed.
     "That was a huge boundary you just broke," Alan said."Are you aware that until now, it's been 5 years since someone saw my eyes."
     Mara gasped.
     "How has it been 5 fucking years!" She exclaimed.
     "I don't want to talk about it." He said. The time of his voice was enough of a warning for Mara to not push him for answers.
     Suddenly Marina said,"Something's up."
     Then they heard footsteps and the door opened.
     6 Octolings walked in and one pointed at Alan.
     "You're coming with us human." She said.
     "I'm not leaving Mara!"Alan said.
     "Well that's too fucking bad." The lead Octoling said.
     They opened the cell for and Alan immediately yanked the keys from the Octolings grasp and sprinted our the door.
     Then he just collapsed the moment he set foot out of the door. CC walked up with a dart gun in her hand.
     "I told you not to underestimate him. He is strong and motivated by a tragic past." She said smugly.
     "You fucking THOT!" Mara screamed."Don't touch him bitch!"
     The Octolings gathered around Alan and lifted him up and started carrying him.
     "No!"Mara cried."Don't take him please!"
     "ALAN!" Mara screamed, reaching between the bars towards him, tears streaming down her face.

     "So you think somethings not right?"Callie said.
     The Octoling girl nodded vigorously.
     "Well you did the right thing coming to us..."Marie said.
     "... Bridgett."
     Bridgett smiled and said"Where Momina?"
     "I'll call her."Callie said. She pulled her arrow shaped phone and called Marina cell.
     When she received no answer, she immediately knew something was wrong.
     "Okay there's definitely a problem."Callie said.
     "Bridgett, go get Vian and meet us at DJ Octavio's snowglobe.
     "Okay."Bridgett said. She turned and ran off to get Vian.
     "Marina, Pearl, where did you to run off to?"Marie said, worried.

     Alan awoke, tired securely to a chair. He pulled on the ropes holding him down but it was no use.
     "Stop struggling." A voice said.
     Alan looked up to see CC standing in front of him.
     "What do you want you traitor?"Alan snarled.
     "Let's make sure to make this slow and painful." A different voice said.
     CC suddenly bent over and whispered in Alan's ear,
     "Help me."
