Ethan huffed angrily. Why would she get together with a human? That's kinda like, wrong.
Now don't mistake Ethan's answer for jealousy. He wasn't jealous or envious about Mara's relationship with Alan, he was worried. Every since they first met, they kinda if clicked. But not romantically. Mara reminded Ethan of Julie, his younger sister, and Mara felt like a sister to him. He was older than her. So Ethan is just feeling the classic older brother protectiveness.
Under normal circumstances, Ethan would be happy for Mara to find heard a boyfriend, but it's the fact Alan is human is what bothers him. Ethan's trust with humans was still iffy, and he worried for Mara's safety.
What if he just wants to take advantage of her? Or what if she gets hurt because of him. (Bro, kinda too late. Mara's received a litany of injuries for Alan, and visa versa)
Ethan sighed and leaned against the couch cushion and closed his eyes.
If she gets hurt or dies because of him, I'm gonna kill him. He promised himself.

"Alan fucking revive me!"Mara all but shouted. (She, Alan, Logan, and Melody were playing Black Ops Unlimited and were fighting the elephant boss on the ix zombie map)
They were so close to beating it, having failed many times before. Logan and Melody were dead, Mara was down, and Alan had 14 fucking health. One more hit and it would be Game Over.
The elephant bellowed and charged at Alan. He slid out of the way, and straight into the waiting arms of a zombie.
"ALAN WHAT THE FUCK!" Mara shouted. The screen said,

"C'mon dude we almost had it!"Logan exclaimed.
Melody have Alan a blank look and said,"You screwed us over, again."
Alan threw his hands up, exasperated and said,"I'm sorry! I can't help that you guys go down and die!"
"Excuses, excuses." Melody said, shaking her head. They all sighed.
"Wanna go again?" Logan asked.
"Nah, we're done for the night."Alan said. It was 3am and Melody's yawns were becoming more and more noticeable by the minute.
"Alright then," Logan said with a yawn."Night lovebirds." He disconnected.
Melody brushed her teeth and fell asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow. Mara tucked her in and gave her a kiss on the forehead before quietly closing the door and heading to her and Alan's bedroom.
Alan was changing shirts and Mara looked away when she saw the words carved into his back.
She climbed into bed and got comfy under the blankets. Alan finished putting on his shirt, turned off the lights, and joined her.
"Night." He said, giving her a kiss.
"Night." She responded after they pulled away. Alan put an arm over her and she pressed get forehead against his chest. They fell asleep.
