Chapter 18

      "Report Ms. Taylor."
      "Sir, they figured out what we did with the bullet and began immediate evacuation."
      "Well we can't have that happening. Send Hawk 3."
      "They have a force stronger than you think sir."
      Ms. Taylor gasped as a gun was pointed at her.
     "Did I stutter Ms. Taylor?"
       "No sir. I'll order Hawk 3 to be released right away sir."
     "That's a good girl."
   
      *About 10 minutes later*
    
     "Hawk 3 is released sir."
     "Excellent."
     Before Ms. Taylor even knew what was happening, a bullet punched through her forehead.
     "Never question my orders."

     "What did I tell ya?"
     "Pearl can you drop it please?!" Mara exclaimed, exasperated by her incessant teasing.
     "But still, I told y-"
     "Pearlie, please stop." Marina said.
     Pearl sighed, but went silent.
     Mara felt a twinge of pain in her chest from yelling at Pearl. The painkillers were beginning to wear off.
     "Alan."Mara whispered.
     "Yeah?" Alan said, not looking up from his game of Grass vs. Zombois.(Plants vs. Zombies but I'm just playing around) Alan was playing the game on his phone one-handed because he was holding Mara's hand.
     "Could you find Sandy and ask her if she can get me more painkillers?"
     Alan paused the game."Sure. I'll go find her and be right back."
     After Alan walked away, Pearl leaned over to Mara and whispered in the Inkling language,"So, is he a good kisser?"
     "It's not like that Pearl!!!"Mara exclaimed in the same tongue, and she immediately regretted it. A sharp, searing, dull pain roster through her chest.
     Mara gritted her teeth and put a hand on her chest. The pain was beginning to that point where it was excruciating.
     "Pearlie, leave her alone!"Marina said,(Pearl had taught her how to speak in the Inkling language so yeah), speaking in the Inkling tongue.
     "I've been kinda wondering about you two,"Logan said,(they're all spelling in the Inkling dialogue, so assume they're speaking in the Inkling tongue until I say otherwise) having just been sniped in Fortnite, placing #79 in that round of Battle Royale."Why are you two getting so close, I mean I don't think you guys are ever gonna make anything work."
     "Why do you think that?"Mara half-whispered, out was beginning painful to talk.
     "I mean, he's a human, and your an Inkling, and you both literally met a few days ago.
     "And?"
     Then the group noticed Melody, standing beside them, giving them that "what the fuck?" look.
     Marina quickly reverted back to speaking in English and said,"We were taking in our language."
     "Huh?" The timid girl said.
     "We're Inklings, and we were speaking in the Inkling language." Pearl said.
     "Oh!" Melody said, nodding her head.
     "I thought your mom told you to stay close to her?" Logan said.
     "Mommy fell asleep, and I got bored."
     Alan returned with Sandy."Alan told me you wanted some more pain medication?" Sandy said.
     "Yeah." Mara whispered, nodding her head. The pain was really bad now and it really hurt to talk.
     Sandy injected the pain meds into Mara's IV,(I think that's what it's called) and Mara sighed in relief.
     Suddenly, the plane shook, and explosions could be heard. Melody ran back to her mother faster than Sonic.
     A man ran up to the group and said,"We are under attack by Dictator aircraft."
     Alan smiled, feeling like he knew what the man was about to say next.
     "Is Spike in the air?" Alan said, beginning to get excited.
     "The Patron specially requested that it be operated remotely, then later be mounted."
     "Hell yeah!" Alan said, excited. He rolled his sleeve up, and Mara saw that he had what looked like a remote tucked into the inside of his sleeve.
     Alan pulled this "remote" out and pressed a button. He then opened the nearest door and dove out of the plane, into open air.
     "ALAN!!!!!!!" Mara screamed, reaching her hand towards the door, almost falling out of the bed. The man that talked to Alan shut the door behind him. Mara reeled in shock, believing that Alan just went crazy or something.
     "Mara look!" Vian exclaimed. He pointed at the window, where Alan's face was. He waves. Mara then sees he's in some sort of fighter jet.
     I'll explain later. He mouths. Then flew off, the cockpit shutting.
