"I hope you guys enjoyed the fucking cliffhanger!" Aiden exclaims.
"Now that we're a little more into this, I'm gonna drop the whole fancy talk."
"Note that if you start giving me hell for leaving you guys with cliffhangers, then I might consequence that by giving you another cliffhanger."
"I only do it so the story is good, keeps you on the edge of your seat, and so that you'll keep coming back."
"Now, fuck me and my annoying self, let's get right to it."
Aiden disappears and we are in Mara's home. She is standing in her bathroom, staring at herself in the mirror.
"What am I doing right now?!' She thinks."I'm an Agent! I should be reporting his right now!"
Mara glaced in the direction of her living room. She had managed to stop the bleeding, but Alan was still unconscious. He was still very pale and and his breathing was very shallow.
"What if he dies?" She thought."Then what?"
She shakes the her head."He's not gonna die. I'm not gonna let him."
She looks down at her hands. They were still covered in Alan's blood. She shivers and washes the blood off of her hands.
"And what was with the feeling I felt when I touched him?"
"What the heck was that?"
She closes and locks he bathroom door. As she takes her clothes off, she thinks,
"Ugh, I can still feel his blood on me." She shivers as she gets in the shower.
Aiden standing "in" the mirror wearing a thick blindfold.
"Now I bet your thinking,'slow down there skipper. Inklings can't be in water.'"
"Well, I think that this only applies for deep bodies of water."
"The Inklings still have needs, and a sense of dignity."
Steam collecting up in the mirror blocked your view of Aiden.
We go back to Mara's thoughts.
"Why does he bring suck strong emotions out of me?" She thinks.
She shivers as some of the warm water traveled down her spine
"I'm supposed to be the FUCKING BADASS AGENT 3!" Mara slams her fist into the wall.
"God damn dude," she thinks."Now I'm cursing. At least it's in my head though."
She stops thinking and showers. She wraps a towel around herself and starts walking to her room.
Aiden pops up in front of her, still blindfolded.
"This is where the comedic part of this story starts," he said as Mara walked past him.
When she walks past the doorway to the living room, she pokes her head in, and sees that Alan's not on the couch anymore.
"Hey!" A voice said from behind her. Mara sprang away from Alan like a cat and Alan quickly turned his head away from her when her towel slipped.
"What the hell you fucking pervert!" She shouted at him.
"I needed something to drink!" He says with a look of dismay.
Then Mara noticed he certainly looked better. The color in his skin had returned and he was breathing normally. And he was walking on his own too.
"Next time, just wait for me," She said, standing up."Now go sit back down! I don't know allot about humans, but I know you need to rest right now!"
Alan walked past her and sat back down on the couch.
He was about to say something to Mara, but he hesitates for too long and she walked away. After she got to her room, she dressed in short shorts(again?) and an orange tank top. Then she started walking back to the living room. She wanted some answers. Now. And she was about to get them.
When Alan saw Mara, he sat up and said,"Hey! I wanted to say th-" "I want some answers," Mara interrupted. Alan sighed. He knew this moment would come and he wasn't looking forward to it. "Okay. Ask me anything and I'll answer you truthfully." Mara narrowed her eyes at him suspiciously."How do I know you'll tell me the truth?" "I owe you my life,"Alan said."If you hadn't came around and helped me, I would've died. I honestly have no reason to lie to you. Mara nodded, satisfied with his answer."First question, how did the human race survive the flood?"
"Know that the information I'm about to give you was taught to me. I learned this in school when I was younger."
Mara was half tempted to ask him what "school" was, but she didn't want to interrupt him.She also noticed, Alan's eyes had glazed over, and he told the story robotically, as if he had it drilled into his head so many times... She didn't even know.
"When the flooding began, the people living inland were made aware of the situation,"Alan began."The President and Congress decided the best course of action was to build a self-sustaining ship."
"The people worked hard on this ship. They wanted to live. And the ship was completed right before the flooding reached the people. Several thousand people boarded he ship. Or the system of large ships.""7 massive ships were built, each specializing in it's own way to keeping the people alive. The US Luisitana, specializing in Agriculture, USS Tennessee, specializing in combat and weapon making, the US Maxburg, specializing in breeding food, the US Sophie, specializing in Medicine and other medical emergencies, the US Harmony which was where our leaders and other important figures lived, and the US Future. where scientists studied and tried to advance our technology."
"There were also the entire US fleet of Battleships, Destroyers, and Aircraft Carriers. They stayed on the outskirts of the ships to protect hem. Because we knew there would be pirates. We knew we weren't the only ones that think to would survive out at sea."
"For hundreds of years, the humans survived, living on our self-sustaining ship system."
"Then one day a man on the lookout screamed,'LAND HO!'"
"We couldn't believe it. After living on the seas, all our lives and suddenly finding land!"
"The human population was quick to move off of the old ships and onto land."
"We rebuilt our civilization aver the years. We began growing crops on natural land and farmed the native animals."
"And that's how we survived," Alan finished.
Mara could only sit and stare at Alan with shocked eyes. They survived for this long and we didn't even know it! Mara thought.
"If the humans have survived for so long, then why are you here?" Mara asked Alan suddenly.
Alan turned his head away, uncomfortably.
"Tomorrow," he said."The rest comes tomorrow."
"You promised me answers!" Mara persisted.
"And you'll get them tomorrow," Alan said. He grimaced."I need more rest, I still feel super fucking bad."
"And indeed, he was," Aiden said from nowhere.
Mara noticed that Alan was starting to get pale again, and has breathing was becoming labored.
"Fine," Mara submitted. She got up and started walking away. "Get some sleep. But tomorrow, your answering all my que-"
When Mara turned around, Alan was already passed out. That idiot. She thought to herself amused.
Mara went and got and extra blanket from her room and threw it over Alan. He'd better live. I've got allot of questions. Mara sat on the couch, on the opposite side of Alan.
But what if his injuries are more than I can see? Mara thought to herself. I'll go to her tomorrow for help.
Mara yawned, and realized how tired she was. I guess I'd better get some sleep. She thought.
She stretched out the her side of the couch and look at Alan. Whatever happened to this boy must've been incredible if he ended up here. She thought. She fell asleep, trying to think of what could've caused Alan to end up at her home.
