Chapter 30

     But she was reluctant to move. Alan's arm was around her shoulders and she enjoyed the warmth and comfort they provided. She wished she could stay in his embrace forever.
     But, she knew she couldn't. They had priorities and it was imperative that they were punctual.
     "Alan," Mara said, moving Alan's arm from around her shoulders and shaking him gently."Alan we gotta get up."
     Alan groaned and slowly sat up and stretched. Melody had beaten them to it and was playing Cuphead 2:Return of the Devil(I made that up) on Alan's X-Box Unlimited.
     "Gah kid! You need to chill out with the video games!" Alan said.
     "Like you're one to talk." Mara said, smiling and crossing her arms.
     Alan felt a blush spreading across his face after she said this.
     "What? I like my games but I'm not that bad with my gaming."
     "Oh yeah you are,"Mara said, giving Alan a playful shove."You, Logan, some other Inkling girl and an Octoling boy are always in a squad, you guys vs the all the human squads in either Fortnite or Black Ops Unlimited."(pretty much all of the COD games in one. Including Battle Royale in BO 4)
     Alan sighed and rolled his eyes.
     Mara laughed and said,"C'mon Alan, we reserved the range for us and the Inkopolins at 4:30."
     Alan glanced at the clock and said,"I don't want to get up, I was having a good dream, but you're right."
     "I'm always right." Mara said jokingly.
     Alan and Mara got ready. And it took a little while, but they managed to......coax the Inkopolins from their rooms and to come to the Shooting Range to learn to defend themselves.
     Mara didn't want to let Melody come, but Alan insisted that she came and learned how to shoot a basic handgun just in case she ever found herself in a situation where she needed to use one.
     "Also can, she's to young!"Mara had insisted.
     "And? She doesn't matter to regiments like Rat4 or the Dictator. He had his guys rape a 12 year old girl! He had his guys torture and murder a 7 year old boy! He bombed a bunker full of innocent men, women, and children! Her being 6 doesn't matter one but to that sick, sadistic bastard!"
     Mara thought about this door a moment before saying,"Are you sure about this?"
     Alan nodded firmly."She needs to know you're to defend herself if the situation ever arises."
     Mara eventually (reluctantly) caved in and agreed to let newest learn how to use a pistol. But she said that Melody isn't allowed to carry it around. Her pistol was too be kept in Mara and Alan's bedroom until they feel that she needs to have it.
     The Inkopolins were reluctant to walk through the city. As they followed Alan, they talked about themselves. They actually ignored the pointing and whispering from the humans really well.
     When they arrived Alan said,"Stay here," and walked inside of the building.
     "Why are we even here?" One Inkling boy asked.
     "We're here to teach you how to shoot a gun." Mara said.
     The Inkopolins gave Mara theater,"Are you fucking kidding me" look.
     "Fuck this,"the Inkling boy said."I already know how to shoot a fucking gun."
     "But do you know how to shoot a human gun?"Mara said, hands in her hips.
     "If we're attacked, you guys need to know how to defend yourselves because the Dictator and his men, will kill you and do much worse without hesitation! Do you want to die? So you want to get tortured or raped? I don't think so. So shut the fuck up and stop complaining."
     The Inkopolins knew she had a point, and they trusted her.(she was the Agent 3, so yeah)
     "Alright, the range is open,"Alan said, poking his head out from the door."Let's go!"
     The Patron was in the range to watch. This is gonna be interesting. He thought.
