Arc 1- Fate
Dark clouds littered the skies as harsh winds tousled the leaves. Water dripped down your silver blade as you stood there in the rain, your scarlet red cloak not doing much to protect you against it.
You gripped the golden handle tightly. You then took a few steps forwards, your knee high red boots dampening from the shivering downpour. It was so dark and foggy you could barely see the tip of your sword. You breathed in a deep breath, and held your hand out before you. A red aura then appeared around it, illuminating the sunken clouds in the area. The light was drawn to you like a moth to a flame.
A pillar of red light then appeared in the far distance.
You pressed your lips into a thin line and drew your other sword, a sword with a silver hilt and a gold blade. You then swung the two swords as you went into a stance, almost waiting for something.
"Come at me." You uttered. Not a second later, small portals made entirely of shadows appeared around you. Strange white creatures then emerged out of those portals of darkness, surrounding you. You narrowed your eyes at the creatures. They had no faces, only mouths with razor sharp teeth and they had blades for arms.
These strange creatures leaped for you, their blades held high. You gritted your teeth and swung your sword through their torsos swiftly. You then dashed forwards as their blood splattered onto the ground. You heard their strangled cries as you dashed towards the red pillar of light.
More portals appeared around you and even more creatures of the dark appeared. You held your breath and sliced through them effortlessly. You then ran forwards, your feet slamming against the slick pavement with every step you took. You then did a front flip over one of the creatures of the dark and sliced its back open.
You landed on the ground and breathed out a sigh of relief. Your moment of rest was cut short however when you were surrounded by wisps of magic. You looked up and to your dismay, larger versions of the shadow creatures merged from the portals. You swallowed hard and took up your stance.
"You really don't give up, do you?" You asked rhetorically, knowing fully well that they lacked the capabilities to answer. With your sword poised by your side, you ran forwards and charged at the large shadow forms. One of the large creatures raised its fist and brought it down on you. You grunted at the impact and used to our sword to parry its attack. You then twisted your body and thrust your blade into its chest.
The creature cried out in pain and came crashing to the floor, dead. You threw yourself over its body and continued to either dodge or kill the creatures of the dark.
As you neared the red pillar of light, you sheathed one of your swords and pulled your right glove off with your teeth. Behind you was an angry swarm of creatures of the dark, aiming to spill your blood. You glanced back at the army and beads of sweat formed on your head. You then looked forwards just in time to block a shadow creature's attack.
You kicked the creature to the side and sped up. You just had to get to that pillar of light before they did! You wiped the rain out of your eyes with your sleeve and ran faster. More portals appeared around you, blocking your path. You frowned in displeasure.
"There's got to be a summoner nearby. I need to take it out." You muttered. You then skidded to a halt and unsheathed your second sword. Your senses tingled as the darkness around you thickened. You then scanned your surroundings. It was odd. Although this city was frozen in time, it still rained and the weather still acted up. Whilst you were occupied with your thoughts, you spotted a car situated under a ladder leading up to an apartment building.
An idea formed into your head and you raced towards the car and jumped on top of it. You then pulled yourself up onto the balcony and began to race up the stairs leading to the top of the roof. Behind you, the army of creatures were chasing after you, grabbing and clawing at you. You gritted your teeth as you pushed yourself harder to go forwards.
Once you had reached the top, you scanned the area for the summoner. You then saw a cloaked figure standing on top of one of the apartment complexes and narrowed your eyes at it. The figure wore a purple ragged cloak and it was floating.
"Found you." You ran forwards and jumped from building to building until you reached the summoner. The summoner turned towards you and summoned a scythe. It then swiped at you.
You used your sword to block it and a loud clang rang throughout the seemingly dead city. You winced as the sound pierced your eardrum. The summoner chose this opportunity to kick you off the building. You gasped as you fell. You then clenched your jaw and dug your two blades into the side of the building.
You slammed your feet on the wall and struggled to slow your fall, the wall was deteriorating as you skidded down it. The summoner then jumped after you and raised its scythe, ready to finish you off. You sucked in a sharp breath and ripped out one of the swords from the wall.
The scythe barely touched your shoulder blade as your sword dug through its skull, ending it almost instantly. The summoner let out an anguished cry as blood spurted from the wound and it fell passed you. You sheathed both your swords and grabbed hold of the summoner. You then used its body as a cushion as you landed on the ground. You winced at the audible crack that sounded upon landing.
You breathed heavily and stepped away from the pool of blood surrounding the summoner. Not a pretty sight to see. You then grabbed hold of your two swords and turned towards the red pillar of light. Just a little more. With a nod, you proceeded running towards the pillar.
You breathed heavily as it began to rain harder. You wiped the water and sweat off your brow and jumped over a bench. You then skidded along the ground and ran up a set of steps leading up to the source of the red pillar. You were so close now you could almost feel it.
Out of nowhere, a creature of the dark grabbed onto your ankle, yanking you towards them. You gasped and cried out in pain as your jaw knocked against the pavement. You then growled and kicked the creature back. The creature cried out and crashed into other creatures of the dark.
You pushed yourself off the ground and ran up to the pillar. In the centre of the pillar, you could see a soft pink feather with red markings on it. You jumped up into the light and grabbed hold of the feather. The moment your fingers touched the feather, the pillar of light dispersed.
The creatures of the dark stopped in their tracks and cried out in pain as they were vaporised by the wave of pure energy that came from the dispersion of the pillar of light.
You stood on top of the broken fountain where the pillar once stood as you held the feather in your hand gently. You breathed in as you allowed the feather to enter your body. A mark then appeared on your back, indicating the feather's successful absorption.
You then breathed out. 'Now, this town can find peace.' You wistfully thought as your gaze scanned across the city frozen in time. The city's buildings were grey from the effect and its citizens were still like statues. This brought a weighted feeling to your heart and you frowned.
"Don't worry, everything will return back to normal." You uttered softly and spread your hands out before you. The soft pink light then appeared around your figure and it spread across the land, reverting everything back to its previous state before your arrival. You smiled as time unfroze and everyone went about their daily lives once again.
Without drawing any attention to yourself, you turned towards the now fixed fountain and raised your hand. A white portal enscripted with runes appeared momentarily. You quickly stepped through the portal before anyone could see you. The portal then closed behind you without leaving a single trace. This was the beginning of a new adventure. But also the continuation of a long and ancient war.
