Robot, Sapphire, Truce and Little ran through the woods following the scorch marks. After a while of running, they finally broke out of the woods into a clearing that gave a perfect view of the sea.
At the edge of the cliff stood Starfire, flames whipping around her feet as her fiery hair blew in the wind. A relieved smile crossed Robot's face and he ran towards her.
"Y/n!" He exclaimed. Before he could tackle Starfire into a hug, Sapphire pulled him back by his shirt.
"Hold it, lover boy. Remember, she's our enemy. Not our ally." Sapphire stated. Robot's eyes widened. He then gritted his teeth and shrugged off Sapphire's grip.
"Please, Y/n, come back to us. You're fighting for the wrong side! Red explained everything to us, what Error is doing is wrong!" Robot cried and took a step towards her. Starfire glanced back at him and stared at him silently. She then glared at the pair behind him and she turned towards Robot with a frown.
"I already know what happened in the past." She stated, sending a wave of relief into Robot's heart.
"That's a relief. So you'll come back to us?" He prompted and gave her a welcoming smile. Starfire shook her head, shocking him.
"No, I won't go back to her. Don't you get it? She's manipulating you, Astro!" Starfire yelled, making Robot frown. Robot then shook his head and he grabbed Starfire's hands and squeezed them.
"Y/n, please listen to me. We're in this together, sweetie. I need you to trust me when I say this, but Red is not a bad person. Error, he's manipulating you! Don't let him control you." Robot urged and he began to rub his thumb over her hand gently. Starfire spared a quick glance at their interlocked hands, and she frowned. Robot held her gaze for what felt a long time. The silence was almost toxic.
Robot's entire world fell apart as Starfire's hand shifted into a canon, and she aimed it at him with a stoic expression.
"I won't be swayed." She gritted out.
Truce froze as well as Robot. Sapphire felt her anger bubbling inside of the pits of her stomach whilst Little began to tremble with a fearful expression on his face. He then crept up towards Robot and gave Starfire a nervous smile.
"H-hey, Star...why would you do this? Aren't we friends?" He asked as he stumbled over his sentences. Starfire's gaze turned cold.
"No." And with that, she fired at Little. Robot's eyes widened as the fiery laser headed straight for Little, who could not move. His fear paralyzed his entire body, and he could only watch on with wide eyes as the laser got closer and closer. Without thinking, Robot's arm shifted into a laser canon and he fired a laser beam towards Starfire's laser, cancelling hers out with his own.
Little froze and watched with wide eyes as the two beams died out. Tears then pricked the corners of his eyes and he began to cry out as Robot's chest heaved up and down, his arm still aimed at Starfire.
Robot glanced down at his arm with wide eyes and he began to tremble uncontrollably. He then gave Starfire a pleading look and stepped forwards.
"Please, Y/n, I don't want to fight you..." Robot whispered. "Not again...!" Despite his sorrowful pleas, Starfire ignored his plea and charged up a second beam. Tears pricked the corners of his eyes and regretfully, Robot readied another beam of his own. Truce watched on with wide eyes as both Robot and Starfire charged up their beams, ready to fire at each other. 'No, this isn't right. They shouldn't be fighting, they should be in love! I...' Truce clenched his fists tightly and he shook.
"I...I WON'T LET YOU KILL EACH OTHER!" He screamed just as Robot and Starfire fired their beams at one another. Sapphire watched on with wide eyes as Truce ran forwards, hoping to use his body to stop the two beams from colliding.
