You landed softly on your feet. The dead grass crunched beneath your feet and the air felt stagnant. A cold breeze blew through your hair, making you shiver. You then looked up and frowned at what you saw.
Everything around you was grey, and not a single living thing could be seen. The waters were still and the trees were silent, despite the cold breeze blowing over the frozen city. The skies were littered with the darkest thunderclouds and not a single bit of sunlight shone through.
"Everything looks so...dead." You whispered. Alpha nodded and surveyed the area around him.
"Where on Earth did Starfire and Sapphire go?" He muttered.
"I'm not too sure, but we should get to higher ground." You suggested. Alpha turned towards you and nodded in agreement. He then held his hand out to you. You looked down at it for a short moment before slipping your hand into his.
Alpha carried you in his arms as he took off for the skies. The air immediately became denser the higher he flew. You couldn't help but cover your mouth as you attempted to block out the pungent smells.
"It reeks." You mumbled and looked over the empty city. Upon closer inspection, you saw that the city wasn't empty at all. Your eyes steadily widened and you sucked in a sharp breath. "Alpha...those are...!"
Alpha's eyes flickered towards the crowded streets and he blanched. He clenched his jaw and tore his gaze away.
"Just as I thought. This timeline really is dead." He muttered. Your eyes followed along the moving corpses as they wandered down the main streets, hunting their prey.
"I've visited many other timelines, but nothing quite like this. Hey Alpha, what do you think will happen if I get bitten by one of those things?" You questioned. Alpha glanced down at you. He then shrugged.
"I'm not too sure, but I don't want to find out. Best we leave the subject." He said. Your face fell and you looked off to the side. "Actually, I've been meaning to ask you about something." You were surprised by this and you looked up at him.
"What is it?" Alpha turned his gaze towards you and a stern look appeared on his face.
"It's about seventh." You held your breath. 'Here we go...' You thought. Alpha's hold on you tightened and his gestures became more desperate. "Do you know where she is? If she's safe... Please, I just have to know!" He cried. You furrowed your brows and looked up at him with regret. You then let out a heavy sigh and relaxed your muscles.
"Seventh... I don't know where she is...but she is safe. That I can assure you of." You whispered. You felt incredibly guilty for lying to him, but you had absolutely no choice. 'Things would only get complicated.' you wistfully admitted to yourself. Alpha's face fell and he clenched his fists. He then opened and closed his mouth as he struggled to ask his next question.
"W-where did you wake up? Which timeline where you in?" He pestered. Your eyes widened. Why would he want to know that? Your gaze became clouded as you recalled where you first took on the identity otherwise known as Red. Alpha eyed you warily as you became lost in thought. He then let out a heavy sigh and shook his head. "Actually, never mind. Let's just look for Starfire and Sapphire." He muttered.
You were snapped out of your thoughts as Alpha set you down on one of the buildings. You then hesitantly nodded and followed after him.

Starfire and Sapphire both competed with each other as they took down multiple groups of the undead. Sapphire smirked as she punched a zombie right in the head, causing for it to go flying off.
