Chapter 23: Friends? Friends.

~Kiera's PoV~

I woke up. My eyes told me that I was in a hospital. Again.

But yesterday...

~Flashback~

I started shooting fireballs at Cait and Malz though I don't really know why. All I can feel is rage bursting out of me.

Suddenly, Ez sneaks up behind me and grabs me. I was pissed for a moment but for no real reason. He is my boyfriend. It would be natural for him to do that. Is he my boyfriend?

My thoughts were being confused with another's telling me that my entire life was a lie.

"What are you doing?" I yell in confusion.

"I'm doing this for you Kiera," Ez says, placing a locket around my neck.

I heard his voice. I know he's my boyfriend. I know someone is using my body when they should not.

"You. Can't. Control. Me!" I screamed. That soul was trying to use me. The soul of a dragon.

Flames surround me as I glow, my powers becoming out of control by the minute.

"But I can," the dragon whispered. It came from the direction of the staff.

Ezreal screams, "No...Kiera!" I felt his arms around my waist and I heard his voice again.

My flames erupt, destroying the staff and everything around me.

The power was too intense.

Ezreal tried to save me and... Wait. Where is he? He can't be...

I cried silently hoping that it wasn't true but how could it not? The flames were over 100 degrees celsius. There was no way that he could've survived.

I see someone come in. Caitlyn and Jinx! My heart hammered for a moment.

"Kiera," Jinx started. "Are you okay?"

"Yes I'm fine. What happened to Ezreal?" I winced, hoping for an answer that told me that he was alive.

"He's in another room. I don't know if he's okay though," Caitlyn said sadly.

He's not dead. He's not dead. He's not dead, I silently prayed.

"Is he..." I trail off, afraid to ask.

"I don't think so," Jinx says.

There was a little bit of hope left.

"Then what happened?"

Jinx and Caitlyn told me how Ezreal put the locket on me and I caused an explosion. My flames spreaded out and Ezreal and I were unconscious. Then, they both brought us to the hospital and started cleaning the wreckage.

"How long have I been here?"

"About a month," Jinx said.

"WHAT?!" A month. A month.

"Joking, dude chill." Cait started laughing. I frowned. Since when did those two get along?

"You've been here for about two days."

I see a nurse come in. It wasn't Sona though it was Akali, a ninja I fought at League a while ago.

Oh my gosh! The competition! If it's been two days like Jinx said, today's the day that we'll go against the Frostbites!

I sat up at once but I felt a jab of pain near the area of my heart.

Akali said, "Try not to move. Your powers are unstable."
