I grinned from ear to ear, reminding myself that Jungkook would respect my decision no matter what.
I wrapped my arms around his neck, leaning in ever so slowly and stopped just when our lips were barely touching.
"The feeling's mutual." I replied; Jungkook exhaled a breath and smiled his bunny smile before connecting our lips. Compared to last night, this kiss was different - the kind where you could clearly feel the compassion radiating from it. Eventually I pulled away, giggling like a child before resting my head upon Jungkook's chest. He gently leaned his head on mine and all that could be heard in this moment were our synchronized heartbeats.
I broke our embrace and looked up at Jungkook, whom of which was still smiling. I took his hand in mine.
"Now that we're official, kind of, of course now we have to get to know each other better. Can't jump into something without knowing what to expect, right?" I stated. Jungkook chuckled, nodding in agreement.
We arranged for our first date to be this Saturday, 8 pm at one of the fanciest restaurants in Seoul. Afterwards, we exchanged numbers and Jungkook departed, being that he had to be at work soon. It baffled me how he was able to get reservations AND pay for everything, but for now I decided not to question it. It was only logical; he does work at an internationally famous company.
I laid in my bed, unsure of what to think about the start of my day.
I sighed and closed my eyes in deep thought. I haven't returned Seoyeon or my mother's calls in a month. They're gonna kill me when I do this.
Hesitantly, I reached over for my phone on the nightstand to my left, to find over 50 missed calls from both Seoyeon and mom.
I was really out of it to not even check my phone.
First, I dialed my sister's number, not wanting to have the dragon out of it's den just yet.
It rang once before Seoyeon picked up.
"LEE ARA! YOU HAD ME WORRIED SICK!" Seoyeon screeched through the line. I covered my ear before I spoke.
"Okay, okay, I get it. I'm a bitch for not calling, but I have good reason for it!"
"Enlighten me, then, big sister."
So I did. Seoyeon was dumbfounded after I summarized the past month for her.
"I'm so sorry, Ara. I don't know what to say. I should've known something was wrong and came to visit you...I thought I would just be an intrusion, though."
"No, no! It's fine, however if you did I think I would've been even more pressured. I figured it out in the end, please don't worry." I reassured her.
"Mom won't be coaxed this easily, you know." I scoffed.
"I know. I've got it coming for me." Both Seoyeon and I laughed out.
"I guess it did turn out good after all for you. At least your love life isn't totally dead." Weird way to say it, but I definitely agreed with her.
Neither of us didn't dare to peep a word about the Jimin incident - we wanted to leave it behind the past.
We continued to talk and give each other updates on our lives; Seoyeon gave me a lecture to find a job soon, as if I didn't know that already. Her life hasn't changed just yet - "from work to home, the days have been boring," I quote.
It felt good to finally hear my little sister's voice again - I missed her dearly. After a solid two hours of catching up, she let me go so I could call mom too.
2 or 3 rings passed before mom picked up; I got the same reaction from her, just 20 times worse.
I endured about 10 minutes of her screaming before she finally calmed down.
"I'm sorry, darling. Even when I went to your place you wouldn't answer your door...Care to explain why?" She sounded beyond worried. I recited exactly what I told Seoyeon - she became flabbergasted when I was finished.
I heard her sigh before she spoke. "The good thing is that you've finally screwed your head on and tossed that Jimin in the trash, where he belongs. When will I be able to meet this Jungkook fellow?" She persisted.
"Soon, mom. It hasn't even been a day since we dated 'dating', give it awhile, okay?"
"Alright, whatever you say, honey." We talked for a few minutes before she had to hang up, having to do errands and the like. I promised to come visit her as soon as I could.
I placed my phone back where on the nightstand and flopped back down onto bed, running through my mind of what other careers I could pursue.
Then it hit me.
I thought out loud. "What if...I audition for YG?"
(A/N: Yes I know YG's pretty shitty but c'mon that's what'll make it interesting 😏🤠)
