Before I could approach the girls, they beat me to it.
"Hey love," Jennie began, shooting me a friendly smile. "Would you like to hang out with us? We're gonna fetch some coffee, chat a little and get to know one another better." She quickly added, "If you can't that's totally okay though."
I laughed, "I was actually going to ask you guys the same thing. I'd love to!" I beamed.
We set out for a nearby café close to the dance studio. The atmosphere was quiet and serene, with no other customers in sight besides us - possibly because it was still a bit early in the morning. I found a window booth for us while Lisa went to go order our drinks. Jennie and Rosé sat together opposite of us, Jisoo taking the empty seat next to me. I peeked under the table out of curiosity to, indeed, find their hands intertwined together. I quickly took my gaze off them and gazed solemnly out the window, not paying attention to the current conversation.
What exactly is going through my mind is fear and anxiousness. I have no clue of the career I'm getting into, not even the slightest bit. Then it hit me.
Seoyeon is a kpop addict. Maybe I can get some insight on what is common and what isn't in the Korean pop industry.
I made a silent note to myself to walk over to Seoyeon's place after the girls and I leave the cafe.
Lisa returned with a tray of drinks; coffee with extra vanilla cremè and sugar for me, black and sweet coffee for Jisoo, a pink drink-like Frappuccino for Rosè, a regular cappuccino for Jennie, and for Lisa, she picked out a mocha frappe for herself. She set our drinks down in front of us and took the empty slot next to Jisoo.
"So, I propose an idea!" Lisa exclaimed happily. "We're gonna go around the table and say one interesting thing about ourselves, and before it's the next person's turn they have to answer any one question that you ask them. For example, if I say I sleep better whenever it's snowing or raining, before Jisoo says something about herself I will ask her a random question and she will have to answer it. Get it?" Lisa explained and we nodded, preparing and thinking about what to say.
"I'll start," Lisa began. "I enjoy watching Netflix on some of my free time. I'm honestly all-around considering movies and TV shows, I'll watch pretty much everything." Lisa turned to Jisoo. "What's your favorite color?" Lisa asked.
"Black." Jisoo said quite dully. "I like sleeping, a whole lot." Jisoo didn't bother to turn towards me or make eye contact with me. "Your favorite movie?" She asked, yawning in between her words.
"Hmm. Nothing's really coming to mind, I don't have a favorite movie in particular." I responded. "Before I auditioned I took dance classes from somewhere around elementary school until my first year of high school." I explained.
"Why did you audition, Jennie?" I asked. She perked up at her name but also avoided eye contact, keeping her gaze on Rosé.
"I auditioned because I simply thought being an idol would fit me - I love to be in the spotlight and perform. Its kind of like the stage is my second home." She confined. "Almost every one calls me Jendeukie whenever I act silly or "cute".
This cycle continued, going around the table, retaining more and more info about our group mates one at a time.
I felt certain that I would grow very close with the girls as time passes by; however I wasn't too certain about Jisoo. She may take a long while to break out of her shell and open up some, obviously. From Jisoo's perspective, I can see myself in her, because before, I was just like her. It's apparent I've changed and I'm embracing it as it comes. I hope Jisoo can try to interact more with us, or at least try.
The morning passed by as if I had been thrown into a time portal - everything seemed to zip past so quickly, since I was having so much fun with the girls. Once out of the café I bid farewell to them, and from there walked over to Seoyeon's apartment.
(A/N: Hey y'all!! I'm (kind of) back! Updates will be coming a lot slower though so I apologize for that 😭 I just couldn't wait to get this chapter out. Also, please keep in mind that this story is sort of like an AU (alternate universe). It's my own interpretation or imagination of how I think the idols would behave and act in this specific type of storyline I'm creating, so it won't be exactly the same as what they put out there for themselves and their fans.
