I was set to debut with the new girl group BLU in one year, complete with a "girl crush" concept. I signed a contract with YG as did the other four future members - Lisa, Jennie, Rosé, and Jisoo. Before leaving we introduced ourselves and promised to work hard with one another - they're such sweet girls. As soon as I got home I dropped everything, got comfortable and called Jungkook to tell him the news. The morning passed by me like a wave.
"Hey jagi, how are you?" I smiled at the stupid pet name.
"Well, you know how I'm thinking about what kind of job I'd like to get?" I started.
"Go on." Jungkook ushered.
"I auditioned for YG and, I got in! I debut in one year!"
"That's amazing! I'm so proud of you! I never knew you wanted to be an idol?"
I thought about that question for a minute. Did I really want to be an idol?
"Well...It's not rather a want, but mostly a need. The option was out there for me, so I took it." I explained.
"Mmm, I see...Either way, I'm proud of you. Would you like to celebrate? Maybe I could come over later?" I grinned became excited at the revelation.
"Of course! Any time is fine." I negotiated.
"Sounds like a plan. I'll see you later then, jagi." With that, the line clicked, signaling the end of the call. This hangout session with Jungkook would definitely be a chance to connect with each other more.
I threw on my pajamas and jumped into bed, letting myself sink into the soft mattress. I officially start training tomorrow and have to report to the YG Dance Studio - there, we're getting a full explanation as to what to expect prior our debut. It's not just a rigorous dancing and singing program, as most think. Things take time to plan out beforehand. I had no idea what to expect. I've never delved too deep into the world of kpop and idols and all that - it wasn't my cup of tea, yet here I am. Extremely ironic, isn't it?
I turned myself onto my back, grabbed my phone and dialed my sister's number.
"Ara! It's not usual of you to call - what's up? How are you doing? Have you found a new job yet?" Seoyeon flooded me with questions.
"Shh, shh, I have some good news for you. I decided to audition for YG and I ended up signing a contract with them. I debut next year." Once the last word left my mouth, a shriek of happiness and excitement took over the line. I covered my other ear with my free hand and groaned.
"Sorry, sorry! Ara, I'm just so happy for you! I'm honestly not surprised, you're an extremely talented woman. You deserve this more than anything else." My heart basically did parkour at Seoyeon's opinion - I'm glad she's overjoyed about this as well.
"When you become rich and famous, everyone will be crawling at your feet!" She joked; I giggled. With hard work comes dedication, and I'll be needing a lot of that. I explained what the next day held for me, in which Seoyeon listened carefully and intently. She was amazed at how today turned out for me. After some time, we had to let each other go - Seoyeon to call mom in God knows how long, and for me to expect Jungkook at my door. Seoyeon promised to let mom know what the daily scoop has in for me.
After the phone call, tiredness washed over my entire body. I hadn't realized how tired I was until now. I figured Jungkook won't be off work until late, so I can sleep in for now.
(A/N: Woo hoo! I finally got this chapter done 😭🤠 yee fucking haw y'all. I hope you enjoy!! Of course, as always, more coming soon~)
