// Several Flashblacks - 3rd Person POV \\
Jungkook smiled his bright bunny smile when his favorite person entered the classroom.
She always seemed to light Jungkook's world, no matter what kind of situation he had at the moment.
Lee Ara.
Lee Ara surrounded the majority of Jungkook's childhood.
In his heart Jungkook knew she didn't even have the slightest knowledge of his existence. If he was lucky, she knew his name.
Jungkook would "risk anything" to be with her, as he put it at the time.
From his observations, Ara is extremely quiet and self-reserved, save for one close friend whose name he always forgot, and his best friend, Jimin.
He heard small snippets of their conversations while they were at their lockers as he passed by, walking in a straight line with his rambunctious classmates.
Once, Jungkook could've sworn he heard Ara mutter "my dad hit me..." though it was so inaudible and mixed in with chatter he wasn't sure if he distorted some words up.
Still, Jungkook worried for his crush. After that, he kept an even closer eye on Ara.
That's it. Jungkook just watched Ara, since he was too afraid to even say hello.
As time progressed, Ara began wearing long sleeves and turtlenecks abnormally for a 7 year old, even in the summertime. She came to school with her head drooping down instead of held high. She whimpered whenever the teacher yelled at her.
What's wrong with Ara? Jungkook searched through his mind for anything that possibly played a part in this kind of behavior she began to exhibit, but couldn't recall a thing that could be a contribute or cause.
Jungkook decided to confine in his best friend, Jimin. Maybe he could be of help, since he's almost always with Ara everyday.
That's one of the reasons why Jungkook strayed from hanging out with Jimin often - Ara was beside Jimin at all times, whenever she could be.
Jungkook could clearly see Ara loved Jimin - even if she isn't aware of it herself.
After school Jungkook ventured to Jimin's door, knocking on it softly. He could hear footsteps approaching on the other side.
"Why, hello there, Jungkook!" Jimin's mother beamed as she opened the door. She motioned tiny Jungkook inside. "Come in, come in!"
Mrs. Park smiled down at the little one before continuing with her prior activities.
Jungkook and Jimin's family knew each other all too well; both mothers are very close friends.
Jungkook rushed up the stairs to Jimin's room, eager to let out what was on his mind. He swung the door open to find Jimin peacefully laying on his bed, playing a game on his iPad.
Jimin looked over in Jungkook's direction unfazed, then smiled fondly at the unexpected visit of his best friend.
"Hey buddy, it's rare to see you here on a school day!" Jimin's squeaky voice rang throughout the small blue, sports themed room.
"Well, y-yeah, I guess." Jungkook stuttered; he never really paid attention to little things like that.
"I came here to ask you for some advice. I-I have feelings for Ara. I don't know if you've noticed, but she's been acting strangely lately at school, and I'm starting to get worried." Jungkook explained.
Jimin's mouth went agape. This is his first time hearing about Jungkook having a crush on anyone.
In fact, as we already know, Jimin also has feelings for Ara.
He leaves those feelings unspoken, unlike Jungkook, letting his curiosity get the best of him.
Despite that, Jimin wanted to at least be able to give advice to his friend and encourage him forward.
"Sadly, you're right. It's true. I mean, lately I've been busy hanging out with Nayeon but whenever I do go see Ara she's locked herself up in her room. She's never done this before, so even I'm at a loss. If you want, I could attempt to talk to her." Jimin made an offer for Jungkook.
Jungkook happily accepted. "Yeah, that'd be great. Thank you so much!"
So he did.
The day Jimin did was the day Ara lost her memories.
From then on, Jungkook fell deep into a great depression; what could he do when the girl he absolutely loved couldn't recall in the slightest who he was?
It was only until Jungkook reached the 8th grade he fully recovered from the incident.
(A/N: I guess this is kind of(?) a sad/serious chapter? Idk, slapped this together while I was in school bc I didn't want to keep anyone waiting any longer. This has so many fuck-ups in it I can't even 😂😂 ANYWAY. Next chapter will be on Jungkook and Ara's first date!! As always, more to come my little lovelies!~❤)
