I walked into the cafeteria with Roxy, listening to her complain about French but ignoring my suggestions of dropping it.
"I don't even speak French! I'm so bad and the teacher is so mean oh my gosh."
I laughed at my friend as she scrunched her nose in disgust
"just skip next time then, you probably won't get in trouble."
We weaved through the tables, looking for a place to sit, and I felt someone tug my hand, making my food tray wobble and fall.
"shi- hey!" I glared at whoever it was, and saw Peters crooked smile, my lunch balanced in one hand.
"sorry, accident." he apologized and I relaxed.
"never mind, it's fine."
He let go of my hand and made space at his table for me and Roxy, who was still babbling about French.
Peter was sitting with Ned and Michelle, the latter who's head was stuck in a book. I had been sitting with Peter and his friends all week, since the day I had broken up with Flash, and then after that night...
"for gosh sake Roxy, drop French!" I told her, exasperated, and she made a face at me.
"make me." I stuck my tongue out at her and returned the gesture. Peter laughed and I saw Ned staring, slightly open mouthed at Roxy. Grinning I caught Peters eye and pulled out my phone.

Alexis: Ned so likes youuuu
Rox: ya think?
Alexis: well he's staring at you
Alexis: do you like him?????
Rox: Idkkkk
Alexis: yes u doooo
Alexis: do you?
Rox: no?
Alexis: ah well
Rox: anyway so some guy in French invited me to a party tomorrow, do you want to come?
Alexis: is this guy the reason you won't drop French?
Rox: for now ;)

I put my phone away and rolled my eyes at Roxy, leaning over to answer her.
"Okay, fine, come to my house after school and we'll get ready, Kay?" I told my friend and she nodded, starting on her food and tapping at her phone.

Rox: invite ur new guy

I slammed my phone to the table and glared at Roxy. She shrugged and smirked at me. Rolling my eyes, I turned to Peter.
"you free tomorrow night?" I asked him and he tilted his head, meaning neither yes or no
"I don't know, I got... Homework." he said and I raised an eyebrow
"well, Roxy and me were going to go to this party, she was wondering-" I winced as Roxy stomped hard on my foot, and changed my reply "I was wondering if you wanted to
come."
Peter shook his head.
"nah, I'm not big on parties. Thanks though." he replied and finally Ned spoke,
"Peter, that's because we're never invited to any." he sighed, and Peter gave him a pointed look.
"dude!" he hissed but Ned had stopped listening, Roxy had looked at him when he spoke and Neds darker skin was now bright red. I smiled and leaned into Peter.
"does Ned like Roxy?" I whispered in Peters ear, who sat up straighter once I moved closer and stared at his best friend.
"he can't focus around pretty girls, don't mind him." Peter whispered back and I laughed.
"glad you think she's pretty." I grinned and laughed again as Peters eyes got wide.
"no no no no no thats not what I meant, I mean, he thinks she's pretty, so he can't really- well not that I don't think-" Peter was cut off as I laughed harder, making Michelle finally lift her head out of her book to stare. I composed myself, clearing my throat but still grinning.
"I know what you meant Peter, I was kidding." I told him and he hesitantly smiled back. Checking my phone, I saw that there was only a few minutes left of break, and scarfed down my food before the bell rang. I heard people whispering as I hugged Peter, and pulled away, taking my tray and dragging Roxy away with me, who was laughing her head off.
"what?" I protested but she shook her head. I rolled my eyes, dumping my tray, grabbing her arm and pulling her out of the cafeteria.

"Red or blue?" Roxy held up two of my shirts to her chest, asking my opinion on dressing.
"do you really like this guy or at your just tryna date some else?" I queried, ignoring her question of dressing, and she shrugged, pulling the red shirt off its hanger and pulling it over her head, dumping the hanger onto the floor. I glared at her
"excuse you." I huffed, as she stood in front of my mirror, scrutinising her outfit.
"I don't know. He's cute, and he likes me, so why not? So the red one? Yes or no?" she held out her arms to me and I looked up from painting my toenails, scrunching up my nose.
"are you planning to wear your other shirt under it? Then definitely blue." I said and she stuck her tongue out, taking of my red shirt and the one she had worn to school, and trying on the blue.
"Peters not coming?" Roxy sank down to the floor next to me, satisfied with her clothes, and I shook my head.
"no, but he only lived a few blocks away, I could leave early and meet him." I suggested and Roxy leaned her head on my shoulder as I fanned my toes.
"you gonna kiss him?" she implored and I shrugged one shoulder.
"maybe. Do you think it's innapropriate? Like we made out and slept together, but not as a hookup, and we aren't dating." I questioned and Roxy sat up.
"well, you really like him, and he obviously really likes you. So for you guys it's not really. See, you smiling now, you don't think it's innapropriate." she elbowed me gently and I bit my lip, not having noticed the dreamy smile I had gained.
"you don't think it's weird?" I asked and she winked.
"live your life sis, I personally woulda slept with him for real but hey, you do you." I snorted at stood up, helping her do the same. "let's go, you took long enough getting ready." I said and ran out my door.
"hey! Looking this good takes effort!" she called out and I laughed.
"it sure doesn't come naturally!" I ducked as a pillow flew out the door at my head, and skidded downstairs.
