"you can do magic!"
"shh!!"
"is this for real?"
I smiled at her shock and she laughed out loud.
"Alexis this is so cool!" she said, looking at the crushed can on the floor and I shrugged, hoisting myself up to sit on the sink, and watching the can as well.
"how long have you have you been able to do this?" she questioned and I shrugged again.
"as long as I can remember." I said and we were silent for a while longer.
"so what else can can you do?" Roxy asked, turning back to me and I shrugged a third time.
"I've never really tested it. Although the other day, I went to the avengers tower, and-"
"you went to the avengers tower?" Roxy interupted and I laughed a little.
"maybe I should explain?"
"ya think?" Roxy raised her eyebrow and I bit my lip to hold back a smile. I told her most of what I could, about Peter knowing Tony Stark, although I had to lie and say it was from the internship. I told her about Wanda, and how she had the same strange powers as I did. I told her about Wanda looking through my memories, and about Tony showing me the video, about Peggy, my mother, and the words on the screen next to my name. By the time I was finished, I had talked for almost twenty minutes straight. Roxy had become more and more shocked throughout my explanation, and I could tell she was bursting with questions. As soon as I finished talking, she shot them all out, and I answered as best as I could.
"so only your family, and the people that were there know about this?"
"and you, too." I corrected and she nodded.
"when Wanda went through your mind, do you think you can do that?" she asked and I hesitated.
"I don't know, I hadn't thought of that actually." I replied, frowning a bit.
"try it." Roxy suggested and I raised my eyebrow at her.
"I'm serious! Try it on me." she demanded and I shrugged, still unsure.
"I don't know, what if it goes wrong?" I said and Roxy huffed.
"how could it? Come on, let's try." she said and I nodded slowly.
"alright." I thought back to when Wanda had sifted through my thoughts, and put my hand over Roxy's, like she had for me. Closing my eyes, I pictured in my mind the night of the party, where I had stayed with Peter. It was the first thing that came into my head, but it seemed like I was doing the right thing. A strange sense of control rose through my hand from where I was still holding Roxy's and I opened my eyes.
"woah." Roxy whispered and my jaw dropped. I was in Peters apartment, his kitchen. I could hear laughter echoing through the hall.
"where are we?" Roxy's voice was quiet next to me and a smile slid across my face. I offered no explanation, instead I held Roxy's hand and pulled her across the room and down the hall to Peters bedroom.
"Peters apartment, I was thinking of the night you ditched me for Jack." I said and she scowled.
"Jason." Roxy corrected in a hiss and I flapped my hand at her.
"yeah, whatever. It was the first thing that came into my mind." I said and we moved through the door before Peter shut it. We stood inside his room, Roxy looking around in interest, while I was eyeing myself on the floor. My past self was lying behind Peter, who had sat back down in front of some papers.
"Alexis, didn't you say you did something that night? Or, this night?" Roxy said, after finishing looking around and was also watching my drunk self on the floor. Realization hit me and I groaned.
"yeah, Peter was acting weird the next day, I remember that. guess we'll find out." I said to her, and Roxy sat on the bed beside me and I waited. It wasn't long until I didn't know what I was going to say, couldn't remember the following events. Roxy and me scrambled out of the way as Peter and me, collapsed on the bed, and I was careful not to hit myself- geez, what? I frowned in confusion at my thoughts and watched as the afternoon played out.
"cause you looove meeee. Don't you?" the drunk-me sang and I cringed, trying to ignore Roxy's snickering.
"you're so drunk Alexis."
"you're avoiding the question."
"I know."
I sucked in a breath and held onto Roxy's hand tighter, and she returned the pressure. Did Peter tell me he loved me? I remembered I had confronted him about his strange behavior the next day, and he just said I had said some stuff. Hadn't I told him it was probably nonsense? I groaned again and shut my eyes
"Roxy I think I stuffed up." I whispered and she nudged my shoulder.
"you're fine, just watch!"
"no, I think he said he loved me, but the day after- or tomorrow, I said, wait no, I'm going to say that whatever happened last night- tonight- the day after, was nothing!" Roxy just hushed me again and I watched the scene in front of me
"you do love me."
Peter said nothing, just stared into his homework, but his eyes weren't focusing on any words.
"I love you."
I groaned as the words came from my mouth, and Roxy nudged me again, as if I was interupting a movie. And I quietened down.
Peter had turned and was watching the past me stare back at him, but he didn't speak. He capped his pen, and dropped all pretenses of finishing homework, instead he turned around with difficulty, as I was now asleep on his back, and lifted me onto the bed.
