Epilogue

When we went out of the stage, the family and parents of most of the boys were there waiting for them, so they all immediately went to greet them.

"Lin!" Someone suddenly called my name and I searched for the owner of that voice.

Once I turned around, I saw my brother and both of my parents standing there.

"Mom? Dad? Gege?" I said covering my mouth from the shock and they just nodded.

I then inmediately went towards them and jumped into my brother's arms as he was the closest to me.

"Why didn't you tell me you were coming?" I asked them. 

"We wanted it to be a surprise." My father said with a warm smile.

"I hope you're glad to see us." My mother said.

"Are you kidding me? Of course I'm glad to see you! I've missed you a lot!" I said hugging both of them.

"Lin!" My name was called one again, only this time I immediately recognised who it belonged to. 

"Yes, Cheng?" I asked him.

"Can you come here for a second? I need to introduce you to someone." He told me and I excused myself for a second to go with him. "I wanted to introduce you to my parents."

"Oh, hello Mrs. Zhang and Mr. Fan." I said and bowed deeply. "My name is Zhu Lin. Pleased to meet you." 

"I can't take you seriously if you speak formally wearing this outfit." Chengcheng said and I sent him a glare.

"She's trying to give us a good impression, don't make it even harder for her!" His mother scolded him. "Don't mind him, dear. He's just trying to be funny."

"You should learn how to act around ladies, son." His father told him. "The way to seduce a woman is by being a gentleman."

"As if you were ever a gentleman with me!" Mrs. Zhang said.

"I already have that covered, dad. I don't need to worry about that bit." Chengcheng told him and they did a fist bump.

"Lin, should we wait for you outside?" My father said suddenly standing behind me. "Oh, weren't you the couple standing next to us before?"

"Indeed we were!" Mrs. Zhuang said. "Are you Zhu Lin's parents?"

"The ones." My mother proudly said for what seemed like the first time. "I see you two are Fan Chengcheng's parents. What a coincidence!"

"It really is!" Mr. Fan said.

"I think the five of us have the same question, if I am not mistaken." Mrs Zhang said. "Are you serious with your relationship or is it just a simple hookup that came up in the midst of the program? Please, answer honestly."

"Well, I don't know about him, but I truly love him even though we've known each other for only four months." I said. "So, to answer your question, I am serious with the relationship."

"I too am serious with it." Chengcheng said taking my hand and interviewing our fingers. "I meant every word I said before on stage."

"But, just as you said, you've only known each other for four months, how are you so sure?" My mother said. "You two are just kids still, you are taking things too quickly."

"We've been living together for four months, twenty four hours a day and even sharing the same room." I told her and squeezed Chengcheng's hand as it was really hard for me to stand up to my mother. "We obviously have many things to get to know about each other still, but I'm sure none of them will make a change. He was there for me during all this time and brought me up when I was at my lowest. To you this may all seem like a game, mum, but I have never loved nor cared about anyone this much in my entire life. I don't care wether you approve it or not, it's my decision in the end."

"Are you taking back to me?!" My mother said trying to stay calm although I knew she was fuming inside.

"Mom, let's go out for a minute." My brother said and pulled her away sending me a sorry look.

"Sorry for that little scene you had to see there..." I said to Chengcheng's parents scratching my nape.

"Don't worry, sweetie. It's okay." His mother told me.

"My ex-wife has always been really harsh on Lin. She didn't approve of her coming to the program and wants to control her life too much. I'm sorry you had to see all of that." My father explained before turning towards me. "I'll go with them, we'll wait for you outside."

He then kissed the top of my head and left, leaving me alone with Chengcheng and his parents.

"Why did you never tell me about that?" Chengcheng asked me.

"My broken family isn't exactly the most ideal topic to talk about." I said awkwardly laughing. "Besides, you'd think I must be like her too."

"Why would I think that? You are not your mother. You are Zhu Lin, my Zhu Lin." He said giving me a hug.

"I think I have never seen you acting so grown up, son." Mr. Fan said. "It must be the effect she has on you."

"It's the love that she makes me feel what makes me do things I would never dream of doing."
