Next up, the <Flow> trainees went on stage.
"Our center, my twin brother Zhu Yunyi, accidentally injured his eye during the rehearsals late last night. After recieving our mission, he practiced nearly 70 hours and only slept three hours." Yuntian told the citizen producers.
I then felt a tear fall on top of my hand which was holding Yunyi's on his lap. I looked up and saw him crying. I then placed his head on my shoulder lightly and squeezed his hand.
"I know how important this is for him because he told me in private -Ge, I want to use this stage to prove my ability-." Yuntian continued. "Regardless if this stage is comprised of four or three people,or two people or one person, we will definitely put on a performance and hope that we can deliver this song's happy feelings to you all. Thank you."
They then began performing and they did really well. I kept telling Yunyi how good they were and told them what was going on. I was almost like his interpreter.
They then told my group that we had to get ready and I had to leave him with some of the boys.
"Sorry, Yunyi..." I said as I stood up.
"Don't worry. 加油 (Jiayou) !" He said and gave me a thumbs up.
After hugging some of the boys and a lot of mother-talk about how short and revealing my dress was by Zhenting, I left with the group to go backstage.
Once we were there, we began rehearsing some parts and talking about some arrangements.
"Guys, before going on stage, I want to tell you that I am very sorry for not being able to be the leader you wanted." I said and bowed to them politely. "I shouldn't even call myself a leader. I'm really sorry."
"Lin, you were the best leader we could ever ask for." Said Lin Chao smiling.
"Even though you were suffering a lot you worked with us diligently." Added Ruibin.
"No matter if I am the center, today's stage is all about you." Finished Zhou Rui. "I think I speak in behalf of everyone here when I say that we are really proud of you and how hardworking you are. We managed to create what I think is a beautiful performance even though we encountered many difficulties in our way and you made sure we were all feeling our best even though you were in your worst."
"Do you wish to make my cry or what?" I said fighting back my tears.
They then approached me and we did a group hug. I laughed at the situation.
We then went on stage to introduce ourselves. I stood next to PD with Zhou Rui next to me, then Ling Chao and finally Ruibin. We bowed to PD and to the citizen producers before proceeding to introduce ourseves.
"Hello, we are <so cold it's bad for you team>." We quickly said and everyone looked at us weirdly. "We'll say it again slower. Hello, we are <so cold it's bad for you team>." We repeated, now much slower."
"First, introduce yourselves one by one." Said PD once we finished the team introduction.
"Hello, citizen producers. I'm your one and only girl, Zhu Lin, and today I'm also the leader. I hope you enjoy our performance as much as we enjoyed preparing it." I said and bowed.
The rest of them also introduced themselves and then PD asked me about the origin of the name. I tried to explain it but I kept getting tongue-tied as Mandarin was not my first language (Cantonese was) and desisted, so Zhou Rui explained it for me.
"What he just said." I added when he finished making PD laugh.
It then was time to perform and the lights dimmed. The props were brought in and we all went to our spots.
"Jiayou!" I said with my mic turned off before the lights went back on and the song began.
During the entirety of the performance, I kept picturing the time when Chengcheng sang it to me as well as the good times that I had with the team while preparing it.
I did this performance with my original intention. I wanted it to be for Chengcheng. As cheesy as it may sound, he truly changed the meaning of the song for me after he sang it to sleep. It was our first night in the dorms and he made me feel calm and relaxed even though we didn't know each other. Our friendship and what turned out as a relationship was made of such a strong bond that I felt like I knew him for years and not months. I didn't want to forget any second of it.
Once the song came to an end we stayed with our ending poses. Me, not being able to be serious for any longer, did a little smile towards the camera.
PD then went back on stage and we went back to normal. I quickly back-hugged Zhou Rui as we walked towards PD and he laughed.
"Very well done." Told us PD. "Thank you to the trainees for bringing us such a brilliant performance. Citizen Producers, it is time for you to vote again. Are you ready?"
The Citizen Producers then started voting and I kept pulling cute faces or hearts to gather as much votes as possible. I saw a group of boys on the right side, so I sent them hearts too. I knew it wasn't fair, but I didn't care. The boys had all the female producers almost drooling for them, I had the right to try to grasp the male one's attention, right?
"Voting has ended." Announced then PD.
We stopped and looked at PD to see what we had to do next.
"Lin's the leader, right?" He asked.
"Yes, indeed." I said.
"Then who do you think showed the best facial expressions in this group?" He asked me.
"Uhmm... tricky." I said and began thinking about it. "I think I would have to go with Ling Chao."
"Why is it?" He wondered.
"It's just that he's the melancholic little prince himself. It comes from his heart, that melancholic look in his eyes." I said and pulled weird faces to mock him.
"That was oddly spot on." Said Zhou Rui and Ling Chao hit his arm.
"Boys, boys. Composure, manners, straight face." I said and we jokingly stood as straight as possible.
The crowd and PD then laughed which made us chuckle too.
"I see that this group has great chemistry." PD told us smiling. "You can now go to the results announcement area to wait for your voting results."
We then bowed and left.
