Aria "Spence I-"
Ella and Byron walked in with their son Mike as Aria was about to tell Spencer.
Ella "Hello Sweetie, hi Spencer."
Spencer "Hi Mrs. Montgomery."
Byron and Spencer nodded to each other.
Ella "How are you Spencer?"
Spencer "I'm getting better."
Ella smiled and hung up her coat. Mike was jumping up and down in front of them.
Mike "Mom tell Spencer about the trip!"
Ella "Oh right! Spencer, we wanted to ask if you would join us for our yearly Montgomery trip."
Mike "We stay in this cabin that has a hot tub and we can go sledding for a whole week. AND THERE'S SNOWBOARDING!"
Aria "Mike's very excited about snowboarding."
Mike "Of course I am! Mom said I could finally take lessons this year! And shouldn't you be excited, you go snowboarding every year?"
Aria "Um...I'm actually not going to snowboard this year."
Byron "What? I thought we were doing the father-daughter snowboarding competition this year."
Aria "I'm sorry dad. I can't this year."
Ella "Why not what's wrong?"
Aria "Nothing! I just don't want to!"
The room fell silent on until Byron spoke again.
Byron "Well Spencer, do you want to do the competition with me? You should be off those crutches by the trip."
Spencer looked at Aria for approval first. It would be fun to go snowboarding and maybe make a bond with her girlfriend's father, but she didn't want it to seem like she was taking him away. Aria smiled and nodded. Spencer looked back at Mr. Montgomery.
Spencer "We're going to win."
Byron "That's the spirit!"
Ella and Byron went into the kitchen and Mike disappeared to his room. Spencer and Aria watched movies, the smaller girl forgetting to tell her girlfriend.
