Spencer sat with her parents waiting for the jury to arrive. She noticed Jenna talk to her lawyer, who looked at her with confusion. She heard their whispers.

Prosecutor "Are you sure? We can fight this!"

Jenna "No, I want to. I don't want her anyway, just give her custody."

Spencer watched as Jenna's lawyer shook his head and walked to the judge. The judge talked to the bailiff, and he disappeared to get the jury. They court room filled again with eager people.

Judge "It has come to my attention that Ms. Marshall would like to give custody to Ms. Hastings, is that correct?"

Jenna "Yes. It's been really hard taking care of her lately and being here today made me realize that maybe I'm not the best person to take care of her. Spencer, I am so sorry for hurting you and taking advantage of your vulnerability."

Spencer nodded and watched Jenna sign the papers. She signed the papers as well and wrote her name confidently on her daughter's birth certificate. The group cheered as Jenna and her lawyer exited the court room. They went outside where a social worker held Ava. Spencer picked her daughter up and held her tight. The two had formed a small bond in the days leading up to the trial.

Spencer smiled to Toby as she left the court house, thanking him for the help.
