Chap. 7

Before the dawn breaks, I take my time to admiring her beauty.

I don't know why at times, she would put on a paint on her face. You know what I mean.

Can't she see that she's already beautiful without it?

I sighed.

Besides, I was greatful that I'm assigned to watch over her.

The moment I see her, I know I was already falling for her.

Even she's just a kid, I know just by looking her in the eyes, she's the one for me.

But....being in love with a human is forbidden in our law. Cliche.

It's impossible for a guardian to live with humans, only by doing their sacred duty can they live with them.

Caressing her cheek like she's made out of porcelain, she started to stir, rubbing her eyes.

I decided to show myself for a second.

She's prying her eyes, then turned to me.

"Who're you?" She asks with a sleepy voice. Not even sounds fear or scare of me.

I take a lock of her hair, tucking it behind the ear.

"No need to know. Just sleep" I said.

The moment her visions getting clear, her eyes widened in surprise.

"Leafy?"

I smiled, still caressing her cheek.

"Yes angel"

She instantly wrapped her arms around me, hugging me tightly as she could.

"Now now. I'm here angel" I cooed, soothing her by running my hands up and down on her back.

"You...you..you said you won't leave me" she stated. I know she's crying.

I pull away from the hug, cupping her face.

"I didn't, not even a second angel. I was there the whole time"

I know I have to make myself invisible in a moment.

"Now shush. Sleep" as I said that, I kiss her temple. In instant, she fell right back to sleep.

"I will never leave you angel. How could I leave when you already keep my heart?"

It's okay. You'll be safe in my care. No matter what happens.
