Your POV;

I don't know what was possessing Kris when all of a sudden, after breakfast, he gestured me to come with him and he led me to the living room.

He never do that.

I sat myself on the couch, while he walks to a nearby cabinet.

"Are you fond of playing chess, Bubble?"

"Huh?"

Speechless, I found myself nodding my head, and watch him taking a wooden board and a small bag, which I assume the chess bits. He set them on the table and began to arrange them.

"White or black?" he asked.

All my life, I always prefer black in everything.

"Black ones" I replied.

He nod and starting to arrange them. Not long after, he clap his hands together.

"Ready?" He said with a smirk on his lips.

"Are you? For the record, I hold the best chess player in my country so, yeah. Are you ready?" I said with a smile.

"Can you leave my mind for like, five minutes?"

I groaned when he outsmart me every time I wanted to checkmate his King. He knew exactly where to move when I tried to read the game. His lips pulled into a grin.

"Sorry, I can't help it" he said with eyes still on the board.

I lift my eyes, seeing him so focus like that made me smile to myself. As I was about to move my soldiers, Minho just appeared before my eyes and accidentally let go of the soldier.

I felt a grip on my wrist as I lost my balance and almost fell backwards. The grip wasn't too tight but almost gentle like kind of grip.

"You alright?" He asked.

I sucked in a breathe when I realize he was so close to me. A hint of worry paint his face and for some reason, I like seeing him worry like that.

"I--I'm okay. I just..."

I just saw Minho right across my eyes. The feeling of wanting to go home suddenly came back in a flick of a switch. I pull my hand away from his grip which made him flinch from my action.

"I need some time alone" I said, before getting up and walk to my room. But when I got into my room, I suddenly feel guilty leaving him just like that.

But he didn't say anything to stop me, but still, I just couldn't do that to him. When I turn around, a shadowy figure emerged in front of my room.

"Back so soon?"

It was Aviana.

She fold her arms and leaned her body on the side of the door, smiling at me. I gulped down, and slowly stepping back away from her. I don't know why, but her presence sent the chills in my spine. I cleared my throat.

"I'm sorry, I still don't know your name" I said. I bit the insides of my cheek, trying to prevent myself from running away.

"Aviana" She fiddled her nails in a smugly way.

"I'm--"

"Ta ta ta. I know who you are, _____. I wonder why Kris brought you here though. It's not like you're pretty anyway. Most of the girls he brought was pretty enough to satisfy his endless needs" she said, still checking her long fake nails.

Ouch, that was hurt. I never did think of myself as a pretty one. Never. But still, that was hurt when it comes out of her mouth. My head lowered down, eyes on the floor.

I hear footsteps and I see her feet. She was standing in front of me. Her fingers went up to my chin and pushed my head up so she could see me.

"Forgive me, so I'll be blunt to you" she pull her hand away and walks around me.

"Every girl he brought here, besides from using them, he also used them as a refuel to his power so his powers could grow stronger than before. Get what I mean?" She asked, stopping in front of me.

Wait, is she saying what I think it is?

My knees began to tremble of what she's about to say. No, he wouldn't do that.

He would never do that.

She suddenly laughed, leaving me speechless.

When her laughter died down, she flip her hair and leaned closer to my face.

"Every girl he brings has a purpose. Those who were here had been killed, their soul had been sucked by Kris and transformed into his own power. Let me make this easier for you to understand"

She cleared her throat.

"The more he kills, the stronger he gets. Your purpose will be unravel soon enough, and I suggest you watch your six when you're with him"

She smiled and French kiss my cheek before leaving my room. I glued to my spot after that. I was brought here, just to be killed?

Of course he would kill me sooner or later, only time will tell. But being with him here, it made happy than I thought.

"_____? Can I come in?"

A knock was heard after I heard his voice behind the door. I was about to turn the doorknob and let him in, but Aviana's voice rang in my ears.

'Your purpose will be unravel soon enough, and I suggest you watch your six when you're with him'

"_____, don't trust what she said. Trust me"

I pressed my forehead against the door and close my eyes, his voice sounded so reassuring but Aviana's words lingering on the back of my mind.

"How I know I could trust you? Did you kill those girls? Did you do it for your own needs?" I couldn't help myself from throwing all the questions to him. I have to hear it from him.

"Yes, I did"

My heart sank after what I heard but I'm trying to control myself from crumpled on the floor.

"Why did you bring me here? Are you gonna kill me too?"

My voice began to crack as soon as that question flew out of my lips. My breathe ragged and it was beginning to hard for me to breathe normally.

"I was planning to kill you, yes. But everything changed when you're here, ____. Please, trust me in this"

A low growl was heard in my room. Then, a growl was heard behind the door, and I know it was Kris. His growl wasn't for me.

It was for someone behind me.

My vision blackened in the blink of an eye, seems like someone was trying to suffocate me. Kris's voice was like far away from me and soon after, I passed out.
