Chap. 60

I step closer and came face to face with him.

"You are not the boss of me" I said with a low voice. Kris cup the side of my cheek with one hand and brush them lightly with his thumb.

"Wake up ____, please" He pleaded.

I grab his neck and kick him in the stomach making him growling. I kicked him countless of times but at one point, he grabbed my leg and send me flying to the wall until cracks were heard.

I didn't feel anything, only darkness inviting me in.

Minho's POV;

I can't believe my eyes. The girl I knew wouldn't punched people in the face. It's just not her. I know it's not.

She sent Jonghyun flying to the wall, pushing Taemin away. An angel wouldn't have that much strength to fight a General but ____?

Something's going on here.

"Minho, what just happened? And don't tell me everything's gonna be fine because obviously, it's not fine at all! Then my best friend just came and--and and all of a sudden she's not...she's not someone I knew!" Key yelled in frustration and sat on a couch, head in hands.

"Hyung, you alright?"

Jonghyun nodded his head.

Taemin came up beside Key and pat his back.

"I think it wasn't Kris that change her" Taemin said.

Me and Jonghyun look at him.

"What do you mean?" Jonghyun asked.

"I think it's Tao all along. I think maybe it was him who told Kris to kill in the first place all those years ago. I mean come on, the Kris I knew would never, ever lay his hands on innocent people" Taemin continued.

What he said managed to shut us up. Maybe he's right. Kris's words suddenly ringing in my mind making me walk to the door. Jonghyun's voice stopped me.

"Where you going?"

"I need to tell the King about the battle, or else we don't have much time to send the angels here to protect humans!" I said and fly straight to the Kingdom.

The shouting below was nothing to stop me from alerting the Kingdom. I have to tell them.

"Minho, wait up!"

I stop my tracks and turn around to see Onew flying towards me.

"What up?" I said and flying to the palace with him beside.

"I hope you know what's going on here. Not to mention the clouds transforming into shapes like humans and us" Onew explained as we made our way meeting the King.

"Don't worry. We're gonna stop him"

"Stop who now? Wait, what are you doing actually? And why are we here?" He asked when we finally stopped in front of a huge door that leads to the King's throne room.

"I need to talk to His Majesty and Her Highness. We're going to have to prepare for the battle"

"But--"

"Please, we don't have much time. Assigned as many angels as you can down on Earth, especially the ones who has mastered the protective barrier to shield Earth from us. Blood is in the air soon if we do not send them now" I said with a firm in my voice.

Onew seems hesitate but soon nod his head. Without another word, he flew away. I take a deep breathe before knocking the door three times. Soon after, the door opened by the guards inside and I take my cue to walk into the room.

Ahead of me, King Theodore and Queen Moon was not to be seen.

"Where is the Royal Highnesses? I need to speak with them" I asked to one of the guards.

"King Theodore and Her Highness are in their study room"

"Thank you" I said and walk to where he just had said.

I came to a door and knock it. There was a faint voice saying 'come in' and I pushed the door open.

King Theodore rest his hands behind his back, Queen Moon beside him with a few papers in her hands. Both of them looks at me and I bow to them.

"My King, my Queen" I said before I lift my head up.

King Theodore and Queen Moon both nod their heads.

"What is the matter, oh brave angel?" Queen Moon asked.

"Your Majesty, there's something I need to tell you"

Your POV;

When I woke up, I realize I was no longer on the floor. Instead, a soft pillow placed under my head and a comforter wrapped on my body.

Sitting up on the bed, I look around making sure Kris is not here watching me asleep. Slowly, I pushed the comforter away and already up on my feet. I look behind and see nothing.

Wait, my wings.

Where are they?

Panic begin to set in as I thought of my new wings. What happened? Did they take it back? No no, that couldn't be happening. I'm sure Kris took it off of me while I was sleeping.

I feel something behind me and I turn around just in a nick of time to dodge myself from the knife. 

"What the fuck, Tao!?"

He was just standing there, putting the knife back into his pocket and laughed. I don't know why I got so angry I slapped his face 'til he land on the floor, hands up to his red cheek.

He stood up and walk closer to me.

"Well well, looks like you're up for your first fight" he said and gave me a toothy grin. He rolled up his sleeve and clapped once before touching his chin.

"Let's try this...in darkness"

Then, he snapped his fingers in the air and everything went black in seconds. I try to adjust my sight but it was too dark for me.

I stabilize my breathe and would hold them whenever I feel his presence near me.

"Too dark for you?"

I was startled and try to grab him but I caught nothing. He just laughed when I do so. I groaned mentally and clenched my fist.

"Poor baby can't see me"

He continued to try and shake me by whispering as if he was whispering beside me but no sooner I try to reach out, he was gone, it was as if he knew what I was gonna do.

My arm suddenly dripping wet and by the time my brain figured it out, I was already biting my lower lip from screaming as the pain was too much.

I feel heat rising up in my body, trying to search that guy who already did nothing but pain to me. I gritted my teeth and tear my lower part of the shirt and make a bandage around my arm.

"Wanna cry? Want some milk now?"

His mocking just make me feel worse and I feel like I wanna kill him now.

'Do it, ____. Do it now and you won't see him again. Kill him!'

I smiled hearing that tiny voice in my head.

"Ooh smiling now aren't we? My dear, I'm afraid you won't be able to come out with that smile of yours"
