I woke up to the annoying sound of owls hooting at my dorm window. They were really loud, and they sounded just like they were about to get into the room - that's how close they were to the window.
What the fuck?
I thought I'd get up and have a glass of water before going back to sleep. It was a Saturday night, so I had to get enough sleep. I picked up my phone from the nightstand before getting up and checked the time.
4:14am.
I sighed and put it back, turning around and going to get water, prepared to tiptoe not to wake up Taehyung.
But, surprise surprise, he was awake.
"Tae?" I said slowly.
"Aish, Lisa, you scared me-"
"Why are you awake so late?"
I saw that he was concentrated on his phone which he turned upside down and put on his belly as he saw I was approaching him.
"I-I...j-just can't sleep", he said, smiling awkwardly and with lack of honesty.
"Tae", I said, rolling my eyes as if it was obvious he was lying and it was pissing me off. "Who are you texting that's keeping you awake?"
"N-No one", he said, his voice starting to shake.
I clicked my tongue and walked faster towards him than he expected, grabbing his phone before he got to protect it.

"Babe?!" I exclaimed, not believing my eyes as I scrolled through his conversation. "Love you too?! This many hearts?! Tae, what the actual fuck-"
"Yes, Lisa", he said and sighed in an emotion that I would've called slight embarrassment. "Yuqi and I are dating."
He said the last part of the phrase with such confidence that I could almost say it intimidated me. I was shocked - since when did he like Yuqi? He never mentioned it in front of me, and he didn't even talk to her, he talked more to other girls like Minnie, Soyeon, Jennie, and even me.
"B-But", I began, not even able to speak properly due to how shocked I was. "Wasn't she dating Mino?"
"She was", he said, another deep sigh escaping his lips. "But now they broke up, and he's dating Soyeon."
"Excuse me, what?!" I exclaimed again, shocked but positively this time. "Soyeon?! Wasn't she with Jungkook-"
"Geez, Lisa, stay up to date, will you?" he said sarcastically, and laughed. "They decided it didn't work between them, so they broke up and Soyeon moved on quickly enough to date Mino now."
"Nice!" I said, a bit too enthusiastically. Even though I was mad at Jungkook for being such a jerk and dumping me by text, deep inside I knew that I wasn't completely over him yet, and if he'd run up to me right this moment and ask for a second chance, I would inevitably say yes. "Why did they break up though?"
"Well, Soyeon wanted to do it first", he dead-panned said. "She thought their relationship was...forced, pressured, and not pure. Yuqi told me that she said so. But Jungkook did it first. He said he had feelings for some other girl, and didn't want Soyeon to find out herself before he got to tell her and feel hurt."
"Some other girl?" I almost erupted like a volcano on the inside. "Who?"
"We don't know for sure yet", he began. "But everyone has some...you know...speculations. Including me, I think it's her, too."
"Who?!" I asked, getting even more thrilled at his mysterious words.
"I can't say", he said, and smiled cheekily like he always does. "I guess you'll find out when everyone else will."
"Tae!" I snapped, acting like a spoiled little brat. "I'm your best female friend. You always tell me everything! I need to know. Tell me!"
"Well I might be wrong and I don't want to get stuff inside that cute little head of yours", he said, keeping the same smile on his face. "But you'll find out quite soon. I promise."
"Ugh", I said, and pouted adorably. "Fine. You don't trust me, do you?"
"Oh, come on!" he said, and we both started laughing along to each other. He put his phone on the nightstand and gave me a big, protective hug, as if he was my older brother or something similar. I hugged him back in a manner just as friendly, slightly unsure about how I could pull away as I started feeling like I was shivering.
Lalisa, what the fuck?
I pulled away and awkwardly, but sweetly looked into his eyes silently for a moment as our smiles were fading away and the moment was getting deeper. I didn't know what was going to happen next - it was 4 in the morning and I was having a random conversation with my roommate, and suddenly felt like I was shaking powerfully. My skin started weirdly getting another texture, a little something like actual goosebumps. Fucking GOOSEBUMPS!
"Well, I think we should go back to sleep", he sighed after the long moment of silence ended finally. "It's Sunday tomorrow, so we've gotta rest for Monday."
"I...I agree", I approved, smiling dumbly like I do when I'm nervous.
He sighed deeply again, lied back down on his bed, turned around towards the opposite wall and closed his eyes.
"Good night, Lisa", he said while yawning quite cutely.
"Good night", I said as I went back to my bed.
I lied down a few moments later and closed my eyes softly, ready to go to sleep when a thought went through my mind.
