Lisa's P.O.V.
"You know I always encourage you in everything you do, but this is not the case. Yuqi really is going to hate you if she finds out."
"Jennie, you're not helping!"
I was pacing up and down across the room as I spoke to Jennie and told her all of my problems and all of the stress and nervousness bombarding my mind ever since I had kissed Tae.
"It's only been a few hours and I feel like the whole sophomore year already knows", I sighed desperately. "I don't know how I'm gonna make it up to Yuqi if she ends up finding out."
"Well, it's just...about 5am, so I guess you have a little extra time to figure out something", Jennie said, trying to keep calm considering that I wasn't. "But she really will hate you if she finds out. Also, be careful who you tell - I suggest we keep it between the two of us. And do not even think of telling that Soyeon bitch! We clear?"
"Can you leave your problems with Soyeon aside for a second?! This is a real problem we have over here", I said, getting pissed at Jennie because of how scared I was.
"Lisa, you caused this real problem you're talking about", Jennie said, and sighed as if she was getting mad at me. "You were the one that left the dorm, and you are the one that kissed Tae. If you would've just spend the whole night with me watching shows and gossiping, you wouldn't have had to stress about it right now. But noo, you decided to ditch me and go see Tae. Now live with the consequences, what can I say."
"Jennie, it was not my fault, it was his! And no, I'm not being a coward and blaming it all on him, but he was the one that made Jisoo call me to the balcony - I was stupid and actually thought it was gonna be her! Plus, I was talking and he kissed me. I didn't kiss him, I just..."
"You just let him do it and didn't think with your brain to stop him", Jennie completed my phrase, nodding like a wise old lady. "That's...understandable, I guess. I did that too, once. Remember when I told you about that family friend back in Anyang? I had a little crush on him, I used to always be so hyped about spending the holidays with him when he came over. Our families knew each other really well, so they trusted us spending time together and knew we wouldn't do anything stupid. Alternatively, I had my first kiss with him on New Year's Eve...and I also lost my virginity to him..."
"Oh my God, you never told me that!" I said, looking at Jennie cheekily as she got slightly shy and embarrassed. "How was it? Considering that he's so ugly-"
"Shut up, you're ugly!" she exclaimed, and we laughed together for a few seconds. "It was...great. Not as exciting as I was expecting it to be, but good."
"That's nice to hear, I guess", I said. "We still have a problem to solve though. I kissed Tae and Yuqi is going to hate me!"
"Ah, Gee, we're going back to that", Jennie sighed again. "Well, I really don't know what to tell you this time. I'm sorry."
Right that moment, my phone started vibrating against the coffee table it was on.
Great, someone's calling. Perfect moment, what can I say?!
I picked up my phone and shrieked, almost dropping it.
"Ah, shit!" I exclaimed, my voice so slow from how scared I was.
"What?" Jennie asked, getting up from the couch. I showed her my phone screen, biting my lip in fear.
Yuqi!
"Pick up!" Jennie encouraged me insistently. "And remember to chill. You'll need this."
I took a deep breath and slid my finger against the phone screen, picking up.
"Hi!" I said, trying to seem natural and chill just like Jennie told me to.
"Lisa, thank God you picked up!" she said, sounding overexcited. "I'm sorry if I woke you up or something, but I need to talk to a friend tomorrow, and Minnie is busy, so I was thinking of you. Do you wanna meet at Starbucks by twelve?"
"Uh..."
I didn't know what to respond, so I screeched my teeth and looked over at Jennie, that was nodding and mouthing "say yes" continuously.
"Sounds good to me", I said, trying to keep my naturalness.
"Awesome!" she exclaimed enthusiastically. "See you there. Bye!"
After she hung up, I put my phone upside down back on the coffee table and looked at Jennie.
"Jennie, I'm screwed!" I said in fear. "What if I accidentally tell her something?! Shit, shit, shit!"
Jennie giggled as if it was nothing to her.
"You'll be just fine", she said, and winked at me. "I promise."
