"Soyeon!" I answered the phone in a squeaky voice that wasn't even my original voice. "Where are you?"
I literally shook in excitement as I ran across the street on my way
to the restaurant. It was foggy, rainy and cold, and there were still bits of dirty snow on the ground as it had snowed last week, but I genuinely did not care. Tae was having his first university date with the girl of his dreams, and I was overly happy to be there with him. I felt like I was getting frostbite on the spot as I walked each step, but that did not matter to me either. I knew I had to look good, so I thought, fuck the jackets and all, I can handle everything myself.

I passed the ugly parts of the downtown where it was messy and full of homeless weirdos and uneducated school drop-outs (occasionally glancing at my purse), getting closer to the restaurant every step I took. I decided not to take an uber for the whole route, but to ask the driver to drop me off about a kilometer away from the restaurant so I could walk in the fresh air for a bit and get even more energy for this uniquely wonderful moment.
"Did you arrive?" I asked Soyeon, starting to walk faster. "I'm terrified of being late, but I can't run all the way there either, I'm wearing high heels and it's raining so I might accidentally step in a puddle and get them full of filthy water from the ground. Who knows?! Anything could go wrong, but-"
I paused for a short second to catch my breath and immediately continued.
"Let's rather concentrate on what can go right", I panted, still keeping my positivity high.
"Sis", Soyeon laughed mockingly, but friendlily over the phone. "Calm down. It may be Tae's first date, but I think you're more nervous than him. Seriously! Just be there, act like your usual self, and let him be with Yuqi. He'll be happy and it'll all work out perfectly, I promise. Plus, you're there for me, not him. Right?"
"Yeah", I approved, though not feeling honest. "Are you there already?"
"Nah", she said confidently, "but, I'm close."
"How close?" I asked, starting to worry once again.
"Look up."
I did as told to, and saw Soyeon. My jaw dropped. As always, she was stunning.
