Lisa's P.O.V.

"23 minutes left", Jennie said as she looked in the mirror at herself in the dress she bought. "Outfit done, hair done, make-up done, everything done. We haven't forgotten anything, right?"

I shook my head, though half absent and lost in thought.

"So are we ready to go?" she asked, grabbing her purse from the chair nearest to her.

"Mhm", I approved and nodded, still not completely there.

Jennie walked towards the door as quickly as she could. She touched the doorknob and was ready to unlock it when she saw that I was still sitting on the couch, staring at the wall and not moving.

"Lisa?" she asked. "Aren't you gonna come?"

"I don't know, Jennie", I said, and sighed deeply. "Should I? I don't feel like it."

"Lisa, of course you should, what the heck are you even talking about?!" she exclaimed, acting as if she couldn't believe a word of what I said. "First, you look great. Second, you have the confidence that many girls - including me - wish they had, and third, you've been tired and stressed about school work for a long time, and you deserve to have some fun."

"I don't know, Jennie", I began, stressed about it. "Jungkook is probably gonna dance with a girl ten times prettier than me, and-"

"Fuck Jungkook, okay?" she interrupted me and rolled her eyes. "Nobody cares about that jerk anymore. You shouldn't care if he dances with another girl, if he likes another girl, or if he's dating another girl. He's the hot player with a shit personality of sophomore year, and you don't need that kind of guy in your life. Stick to better guys. If you dwell him for a long time, you'll never get over him and it will only make your life worse, not his."

"Well", I said, and sighed again, "I guess you're right. But if everyone ignores us and no boy wants to invite us to slow-dance, you're paying the next 5 times we go to Starbucks."

"And if guys look at you and drool, you are paying", Jennie said confidently, and laughed cheekily. She grabbed my wrist and pulled me up like she always does. "Now, let's go, we don't wanna be late!"

We ran out of Jennie's dorm and took the elevator downstairs as we didn't want to trip and fall with our high heels on the stairs, almost prepared for the ball.

Hey, don't get your hopes up. I said almost.

The elevator opened and right in front of us was the large entrance door to the ballroom. We saw a random girl exit it and head towards the bathroom, so we decided to stay where she passed and peek inside before entering. We saw nearly everyone, but not well enough, so we wanted to go in and take closer looks. We looked at each other, smiled nervously but confidently, and grabbed each other's hands for a few seconds, then let go and walked in like models.

We saw Soyeon, Seulgi and Minnie in the middle of the dance floor, holding glasses of wine in their hands, one each. Soyeon was wearing a black velvet dress with a slight cleavage and pale orange high heels.

How the fuck is she always this stunning without even trying?

Minnie also looked great in her long, red dress, wearing black stiletto high heels and walking with grace.

Seulgi wasn't ever too pretty or elegant, therefore this night wasn't an exception, but she looked acceptable - she was wearing a fancy white shirt, a pink dress, and black glittery heels, long to her knees.

I looked away from them and scrutinized the room looking for Taehyung, but saw Jungkook first. He looked at me right as I lied my eyes on him.
