"Welcome back young ones."

The training grounds were full of young men and women, ages varying from 13-25. The holiday period had finished, and now they were all before me ready to start preparation again. "I assume you are well aware that your supernatural powers are beginning to disappear. This will mean that you are not as stronger than before, but you should be used to it by now, it happens every year." I looked around at the young faces, serious and determined. "In my opinion this is the best way to start the season. I can see who has practiced what they have been taught, and who has not."

At this point, many of the pack members began taking glances at the people standing beside them, analysing their body and how fit they looked. Without supernatural powers, the competition grew.

"Empecemos. Grab a partner of the opposite sex - partners who are not your mate, and begin the regular warm ups. You have five minutes."

My command was followed immediately. Men were quick to latch onto the closest woman in reach, while there were some women who walked across to the other side of the outside training space, with hopes that they could partner up with the cutest male in sight; a crush perhaps. Growls escaped from mated werewolves, jealous that their other half was partnered up with someone other than them. But this was expected.

"Where are my black adidas trainers?" I shouted from within the bathroom.

"Sod that, I'm looking for my mascara." Katie said, running about the room.

"Why are you wearing makeup to training?" I asked, shaking my head in confusion.

"Listen Al, not everyone is as gifted as you when it comes to going natural, I need cosmetics to hide the ugliness on my face."

I laughed a little as I combed my hair back into a low bun. She had a point. My clear tanned skin was one of my specialties...not one spot could be found. My dark lips were full and plump and my eyes were big and dark.

"You're not ugly Katie," I said coming out of the bathroom. "But what are you wearing?" I chuckled as she strutted in black ripped jeans and a crop top. "You can't wear that to exercise babe."

"I wasn't expecting that I would be needing exercise on holiday. This is all I have." She looked at herself in the long mirror on the wall. "It's not that bad."

I chucked her a pair of my joggers and I told her to put them on. Then Jack came in the room.

"You guys ready?" He said.

My mouth dropped just as a tad as I took in the sight of my best friend. He was wearing a tight sleeveless top, his muscles bulging out like they were about to explode; and baggy trousers like the ones I gave to Katie. "Wow, are you sure you're going training Jack?" I asked jokingly.

He smirked and leant against the doorframe. "You girls ready yet?" He asked, glancing at his watch.

"When does it start?" Katie asked, putting on her trainers. "I'm still sleepy, and this makeup ain't doing a good job of hiding it."

"Well he didn't exactly give me a time. He just said 'first thing tomorrow,' and so I'm guessing that means 7:00?"

"Alpha, this rogue isn't worthy of your training, he can't even make it on time." Christopher stood at my side waiting, with a frown marked upon his forehead.

"Christopher. You are one of my strongest soldiers, worthy of all honour and respect for your loyalty and dedication," when I said this, Christopher's shoulders squared up a bit. "But you must understand your place. No one tells me who is worthy of my time and who is not. That is for me to decide. Understood?"

Christopher lowered his gaze respectively and nodded, before walking away to observe two adults training. I glanced at my watch and sighed, Christopher had a point.

We approached Marcus who was behind the reception desk, and asked him where the training was taking place. He looked at the clock and glanced at us disapprovingly. "Training started 2 hours ago. You are late."

"What?" Jack spat. "Training starts at 5:00?"

"Yes, you are expected to be promptly on time every day. A werwolf doesn't have to have the regular 8 hour sleep that humans require. Of course, this will be harder for you as you are not werewolves. But as you are pretending, you must be on time." Marcus made his way out to greet us. "A werewolf begins training as soon as they turn 13. If you are not used to exercising, be prepared to play the fool if you are partnered up with somebody younger than you."

"We're fucked." Jack murmured as we made our way outside.

We journeyed through what looked like a small forest, on a nicely constructed marble pathway that meandered through rocks and huge trees. Tropical birds flew freely in the canopy above us, eliciting sweet sounds as we neared towards the training ground.

"Do any of you specialise in a sport, such as Tai Chi or sword fighting?" Marcus asked as we approached an opening of green grass, neatly trimmed down.

"I do archery, if that helps." I said casually.

"My specialty is basketball, but I do boxing on the side sometimes." Jack replied.

"I won a trophy last month from a restaurant I visited," Katie began. "I successfully ate 3 supersize burgers in the space of 40 minutes; broke the high score I did."

Marcus looked at Katie in shock. Katie had a small, slender body - but she could eat a horse if she wanted to. Katie smiled innocently at Marcus and started walking ahead of us.

"Katie's not a fighter," I said. "But she's an excellent swimmer, a horse rider, and can play piano like a pro."

"The piano won't help her in training." Marcus stated bluntly. "But horse riding and swimming will benefit her massively. If she's as good as you say she is, she will definitely be an asset."

I looked at Katie, who had created a gap from her fast walking and smiled. "Do you think the Alpha will go easy on us?" I asked Marcus, who was walking beside me.

"No. He will push you just as much as he pushes everyone else."

"Shit," I moaned.

"Before you begin, he will ask you what your talents are. You will get in his good books if you show him what you can do, and do it well." Just as he finished speaking, we arrived at the training ground.

My jaw dropped as I took in the amount of people that were present, there was easily around 300 people. I stopped in my tracks and tried to force myself to turn around and go back.

"You will be fine Ailani," Marcus said, gently nudging me on.

No one had noticed us yet, which was good. I looked around from the distance and gaped at the sweating bodies, glistening underneath the sun. Men were being thrown to the floor by their opponents, girls were skilfully executing backflips and front flips, spin kicks - things you would only expect Jackie Chan to be able to do.

"I must warn you," Marcus started. "The moment the women see you, there will be competition. Female werwolves are especially combative when it comes to new girls, so when they see you, be ready for serious opposition."

Great. Just great.
