Adrian's P.O.V

I thanked my lucky stars that I had found Ailani, and thanked the Goddess that my brother was okay.

"We've been looking all over the pack territory to find the pair of you," I gestured to Catalina and Solomon. "Where have you been, brother?"

Solomon shook his head and went to the door. "Never mind about that, I'll tell you later. But we need you now, something isn't right with the pack."

"What do you mean, our pack? Are the rest of the wolves okay?" Catalina stood up, her eyes looking for an answer.

"You know Catalina, it would be really helpful if your psychic powers could have given us a heads up on this one." Solomon said, before disappearing out the door.

"Wait, you have psychic powers?" Amanda said confused. "No werewolf should have psy-."

"Okay Amanda, forget about what you've been taught. Forget all of it. Nothing is quite like it seems. Now shut up and come with us. One more word from you, and I'll hand you over to Adrian."

"Solomon, do you want to tell me why I'm seeing blood speckles on the floor?"

"There's a lot more where that came from," Solomon answered, walking up the stairs. "Come with me, we don't have time to take the lift."

When we reached the first floor, the stench of infected blood filled my senses. The air smelt like a bad disease.

"I saw your hole marks in the doors and figured that you'd already found the members of the pack." Solomon said, walking ahead of us all.

"Yes, we saw that every member had been drugged and knocked unconscious, that's why they wouldn't wake up." I replied, swallowing the awful smell down.

"They were not sleeping pills," Solomon said gravely. "They were given something else, something poisonous."

We entered one of the rooms, and what I saw made my wolf growl in fear and anger. The bed, once covered in plain white sheets, was painted with puddles of blood. In the bathroom only one pack member remained, her body lay limp on the floor, twisted in agony.

"What the hell is this?" I asked breathlessly.

"We thought it was mistletoe, but its something much worse, I don't know what it is." Solomon said, gripping his eyes shut at the sight. "Marcus is still running tests on the blood samples."

"It looks like whatever they were given was ineffective for a few hours."

"The blood stained bed, what's that about?" I said. I was about to be sick, Marcus walked in before I could make the decision to puke on the floor.

"The Pack Elders know of the substance." Marcus started, walking into the bathroom. "They believe it to be an ancient form of Mistletoe, one that only grows in the rarest of places. Ivan must have travelled far and wide to find this."

"What do you know," I said to Marcus. "Tell me everything they told you."

"They didn't tell me much," Marcus sighed and shook his head sadly. "They won't make it. It's a deadly poison. The bacteria will kill all of the white blood cells until there is nothing left to fight with, and they will die."

I felt like the air had been knocked out of my lungs. My whole pack, gone - just like that. I had anger inside me, but my wolf was too busy whimpering with a loss that felt close to the feeling you get when your mate is gone. I stared into the bathroom, recognising the face of the two young girls that were in my pack, Sadie and Shelley. Pretty young things, with a lot of potential. I didn't stop the tears that fell from my eyes.

"Is there nothing we can do?" Ailani walked into the bathroom and knelt down next to the young girls, their heads were bent back against the bath, eyes bloodshot red. "How could someone feel okay with doing this?"

Catalina's P.O.V

"What's that smell?" Amanda said, pinching her nose in disgust. I shot her a glare, and she put her hand back by her side. We were standing in the hallway, Adrian and the rest had gone into the room, and I was stuck babysitting these bitches.

"Stay here," I commanded, and headed into the room, stepping into the hole that Adrian had probably made with his foot.

When I saw the girls in the bathroom, my body dropped to the floor and I went into a frenzy mode. I didn't feel Adrian catch me, or see Solomon standing over me. My eyes rolled back and I saw something that I wasn't expecting to see.

The room was empty, except for Ailani and the two corpses in the bathroom. She was kneeling over one of the girls, her hand stroking her hair that was congealed with blood. Tears were pouring out of Ailani's eyes and she kept on mumbling how sorry she was. I was about to walk into the room, but all of a sudden I was dragged onto the bed, and felt like I was falling into another world.

My body was paralysed again, and I felt as though I was pouring out blood. The room I was in was not the same as before. It was some kind of chamber. I was beginning to cry in pain, but when the tear fell to the crevice of my lips, I tasted blood.

I heard a door creak open, and heels clanking gracefully against the floor. For some reason, the wolf inside of me felt calm and safe. The lady sighed sadly as she saw my body on the bed, and began stroking my hair soothingly. "Ne t'inquiète pas. Vous êtes en sécurité maintenant." She whispered softly, it sounded like French but I couldn't understand.

Before, I wasn't able to see her face. But when she looked into my eyes, I froze in astonishment. She was the spitting image of Ailani, only her eyes were green, and she looked about 10 years older. She smiled at me and placed her palm on my forehead. "This won't hurt a bit."  She had mind linked me, and now my wolf was purring in delight.

I felt like I was being put to sleep; when I woke up I was back in the room with Ailani. She was still kneeling beside the girls in the bathroom, but they were well and alive, having a conversation with her. Ailani looked at me and cocked her head to the side. "Catalina, is everything okay?"

"Huh?" I felt giddy.

"Is everything okay?"

"Is everything okay?"

"Catalina, is everything okay?" Solomon was leaning over me on the floor, his face a mixture of worry and desperation.

I sat up and looked into the bathroom, the two girls still lay lifeless on the bathroom tiles. Ailani was beside Adrian, she sighed as soon as she saw I was okay.

"What happened Catalina, what did you see?" Adrian's tone was caring and calm, but a demand was somewhere in his question.

"She's a healer," I whispered.

"She's a what," Solomon questioned.

"She was you? I don't understand." I began.

"She needs some rest," Solomon said, picking me up and carrying me out the room.

"No you don't understand, Ailani, I saw you. You were older but, you healed me."

"Yeah, she's definitely been smoking. Come with me Catalina. You need rest."
